Sizwe night racing

We are thinking of starting a weekly or fortnightly night race for the East Rand guys, on the same basis as delta park.

 

We looking at starting in the park below Grand Slam in Dowerglen and doing a 1 - 2 km track basically in the veld on the right hand side of the N3 travelling north between Linksfield & Modderfontein off ramps. So we won't be going under the highway into Sizwe actual.

 

In testing the waters here, who of you guys in the OOS RAND would support this.

Suggest you make it a different night to the Delta Park race you might get guys wanting to do both. Thursday is probably best.

it's still an idea at the moment, and we certainly don't want to try take anything away from Delta park. So thursday night sounds like a good idea.

We also need to get the route done and get the timing system from somewhere. I'll keep you guys posted.

We were also thinking of having a few obstacles and jumps - there is already a natural drop off on the route we intend. nothing to heavy or technical, just something to make it a bit more exciting.

Have a chat with the guys from Rockhoppers, perhaps they'd be willing to let you have a look at their timing system which is an Excel spreadsheet with Visual Basic coding.

I think that is a great idea!I will definately be keen.Its just a plus that grand slam is so close & has lots of cold beer.
