I recently got an order from CRC.

From the order was missing 1x Dura-Ace chain and the bike bag I bought had a long cut in it. Probably from customs cutting the box open to check it.

I sent CRC and email regarding the above and got an email back 4days later stating that they would be posting me a chain and a new bag...

Will it arive???

If it does I will be very impressed because in SA I would be blamed for the missing chain and cut...

From CRC, I can almost guarantee it will arrive (unless customs decides they like your stuff too much to give it to you!). There are countless stories of the incredible customer service CRC offers (I have experienced it twice myself).

On the other hand, their competition (total cycling) has the most shocking customer service I have ever come across. Took them 2 months to replace a derailleur which arrived in CT with the hanger bent (that's 2 months from when it was returned to them!).

I agree about TotalCycling, they should really call themselves TotallyUseless. I have bought some stuff from them but 90% of the time they don't have the items in stock and they only let you know after you pester them with emails about the status of your order.

What is' date=' on average, the delivery lead time for stuff ordered from CRC. Looking to buy some spares & replacement parts for the Sani2C. Do you reckon it'll be here by the 15th of Feb?[/quote']

if you order today it will be here by end of next week. Maybe the latest Monday/Tuesday the following week. I've found that if you order on a Friday you get the same time as if you would have ordered the following Monday.

My order was palced on Christmas day and posted on 31 Dec. I got the package arrived in SA on Monday 18 Jan and was at my Post Office on Thursday...

It took very long to get here. According to Parcel force high seas delayed the ship

Ordered two Polar S725x HRM from Totalcycling. The Cadence sensors ordered seperately did not work, both of them. Had to pay at Polar for new PC boards. Contacted Totalcycling and they refunded my account to the value of the two Cadence Sensors without me sending them back........ Velo......... take your words back about calling the ToallyUsesless you fiend!!!!!!!!

If you need it in 2 weeks then pay extra for faster postage... Parcel force is anywhere from 4 days to 5 weeks from my experience (everyone blames customs, but it's actually parcel force. The 2 orders that have been delayed were both still sitting in their containers and they hadn't gotten to it yet - customs generally clear stuff in less than a day).

Generally CRC deliveries are quite good - they dispatch the same or next day - usually leave the UK within a day of that (track it on parcleforce.co.uk). The problems are mostly SA end - customs and theivery.

I had my 1st problem with them recently, an XT crank delivered with a few pit marks on it - they cover your return postage and if it is a cosmetic issue, they offer you the option of a gift voucher as a discount for the cosmetic damage.

Bad time of the year to order anything from overseas. Staff are on leave, postal services are bursting at the seams and then the damn weather snowing everything in. I ordered model RC Helicoter spares from the U of SA and they only arrived at the Post Office on 16 January, after we left for Nigeria. Now I must beg to get it here!!!!!!!

I've have excellent service with CRC now after 5 orders, even with parts I got wrong: they refunded real quick and always ship the order within a working day.

The problem is if you use Parcelforce (their free shipping): there is a big patch of the ether here once it arrives in the country, and you just have to wait for it to come out the other side. I am now waiting for some NB spares: the tracking says attempted delivery on the 25th, after a few phone calls here to  Customs and local  PO, I get told its on its way maybe, yesterday today or tomorrow ? ? ?

If you have a big order or spares you need to get on time, I suggest taking the UPS shipping option, there you can find out where the parcel is at any time, the only delay is customs clearing here, it can be stopped for inspection which will mean a delay of a few days.

i have used CRC many times and find that it is usually quicker (and cheaper) to order from them then to wait for your LBS to source the stuff. i bought wheels, shoes, groupsets etc. The packaging is great and for once you get wheels in a original packaging! would think twice of ordering electronic stuff from Uk as chances of warranty claims and hassle are higher.

If certain stock is out - then this can delay the delivery - but i find that if i call them they usually cancel the item and reverse the money automatically into my account.

Local guys have much to learn..

Sorry Big H. I did have two orders that went extremely well, but another four that were a total waste of my and their time. I'll agree to calling them SomewhatUseless if you prefer.
