Imagine how long the extension lead must be to power that "electric" groupset.

Thise okes are so smart they have made it solar powered, so no extension needed!

Very cool idea but I feel electronic groupsets are more suited to road applications.

 

 

 

 

You'll notice that the text on the last pic talks about a Dura-Ace RD, although this is clearly on a MTB.

Why? I would have thought it would be the opposite. In MTB you are far more prone to shifting problems due to dirt, etc which electonic shifting should theoretically avoid.

 

I do agree that there is probably more potential for water fouling up the works.

The battery doesn't add that much, Besides which, Columbia Htc, Garmin Transitions and Team Sky are some of the few teams that have chosen the Di2 over the mechanicaldue to the reliability...

 

Lest we not forget those team bikes get washed after  every ride and road bikes also get wet and dirty in the rain...
