Scottoc Posted March 15, 2010 Share So....who had the flu? For my 18th Argus, I figured I would actually train and try for my second sub-3. I trained hard for about 5 months and all was looking good until Friday when I woke up with a cold... This is the first time I have ever taken Strepsils along on a ride. Plenty of expletives later, I managed a pretty disappointing 3:33...
newbie234 Posted March 15, 2010 Share 6h54, Needed the loo at jubilee square. otherwise would've cracked 3h00 for sure It was 7 hours of pure unadulterated hell but I wouldn't miss next year's race for the world, gonna practice a bit more though! snakesmile Posted March 15, 2010 Share 4:21 in group ZZ. Any thoughts on what seeding that might give me for next year? Call me stupid, but I can't seem to find out anywhere if there is a credit given to cyclists who ride in groups where the bunch effect just ain't happening! Came 7th in group. Windy, fun day. stewie911 Posted March 15, 2010 Share 3:40 from J group. Had a tribracket that broke halfway and lost my bunch, so had to ride alone from there. My legs have never felt so sore after trying to catch the bunch after I stopped.

Woofie Posted March 16, 2010 Share This post is lank late, but better late than never I suppose. Started in F. Stuck with my group till simonstown. I wasnt enjoying the race at all. A couple of people had gone down around me and the whole race just seemed like a bad memory from last year again. So I decided, stuff it. Im not amped at all. Im not enjoying this. I dont care, there is enough other races in the year, I want to just spend the time going at my own pace and look at the view and shout at the crowds. So I did. I spent the last 60km going on my own. Didnt tail the people coming past me. Stopped many times for as much free coke as I could get down me. (I finished with a full bottle of juice still, haha, needed to pee badly then though.....) When I got through to camps bay I decided since I am on the whole freebie thing, I am going to stop for a massage while I am at it as well. Was really cool. So my official time was a nice and slow 3.58. I was happy that I did that. I was in a good mood at the end and I really enjoyed it. I would have been in a Cr@p mood if I pushed myself hard and had a horrible race and crawled across the line at 3.30. & That would left left me feeling like hanging up the bike. hboli4 Posted March 16, 2010 Share Came in at 4.43 from ZZ, didn't train nearly enough, guess one 85km training ride and some spinning just doesn't cut it but still enjoyed myself a lot, the slow pace I was going at after Smits made the view so much better...
