I work for a big retail chain' date=' we are not even allowed to put a competitors (To FIFA"s partners) product on sale, in window graphics or on the front end of a line of shelving in-store, we also have to do our receiving at night for the month, we are not allowed to drive our trucks around with product display signage on the truck bodies ect. etc. crazy stuff. SA sold our soul to FIFA when we got the WC.

That been said I cannot wait, and I back the WC all the way.....

I think Only Budwiser beer may be sold within 1km of the soccer stadium

Hows that
Bud only in the stadiums, Budweiser agreed that they would be unable to meet demand of all the fanparks pubs etc, so they will allow SAB to sell their piss at the fanparks etc. At least they thought it through.

Anyone feel like a Heineken?

Johannesburg - FIFA has ordered budget airline kulula.com to withdraw an advert that says it is the "Unofficial National Carrier of the You-Know-What"' date=' The Star newspaper reported on Friday.

The airline announced on networking site Twitter: "Oh dear, letter from FIFA's lawyers says we broke their trademark of the use of 'South Africa' and think our non-WC ad was about soccer...

'Surprised'

Officially, the airline said it was "surprised" to receive a letter from the world football body demanding it withdraw the adverts.

"They said we cannot depict the Cape Town stadium, we can't use soccer balls, or the word 'South Africa', and the depiction of the national flag is not allowed," said marketing manager Nadine Damen.

"We can't make any reference to the World Cup. They also told us we cannot use the vuvuzela, which, in our view, is representative of the people of South Africa and their love of football."
[/quote']

I think it's time that our useless government wakes up and realises that we are being screwed with our eyes open....

fifa does not own our National flag...It belongs to SOUTH AFRICA!!!!

They do not own any of the stadiums in South Africa...They belong to the local government in the province in which it is built. The name  "South Africa" also does not belong to fifa.

If fifa wants to stop Kulula from using the name "South Africa" in their advertisements then they will have to stop all companies and individuals from doing so. What about travel agencies who are not affiliated to the swc, but need to advertise, as there are tourists who want to come to South Africa for other reasons besides attending the swc. Will they have to close business until after the swc??????

fifa are just a bunch of w@nkers who want all the attention...just like a baby with a wet nappy and a snot nose.....

Wait until you see Vodacom taking down their massive billboard on the

top of

Ponte because it is within a kilometre and camera shot of Coca-Cola

Park!!

SA is the only country in history where the president signed sureties in the delivery of the SWC.  So we are nationally bound against huge financial penalties to deliver the tournament the way The Blatter-ist and his mates want it.  Bend over SA ...

Kulula are laughing all the way to the bank with all the free publicity over this, now on BBC news website as well. Priceless!

Hopefully this will spur others to undermine this facist brand autocracy that FIFA has surrounded itself with. Panzi! ?

Yah, money talks.

Money is power.

And FIFA has loads of it.

Ethics, fairness? Well, that goes down in the name of commercialism.

All a load of bollocks! The sooner the bloody WC is over the better!

Having spoken to many people I know from abroad who are footie fans, most are not coming as they are not willing to bend over for the blatantly extortionate pricing for everything during the world cup!

Well that sounds right ... when I was at the games in Germany they dressed up team busses provided by Merc in Hyundai branding.  Hyundai couldn't provide the busses to spec for the SWC, so FIFA contracted the Mercs and rebranded them to suit their sponsor.  It's all about the Benjamins :)
