Sheesh, Thyolo, decent citizens should not experience situations like this in civilisation. I am sure you will cope with it, and be careful out there!

Thyolo, must tell you this story. Many moons ago a "legal" wage negotion strike with conditions! One condition was that strikers were not allowed on premises.

So we put our contingency plan in action, and within a day we were delivering the same volumes with half the labour (off duty police and firemen as drivers and crew from Genadeplaas)

This frustrated the strikers, and one morning about 100 of them stormed the despatch area and offloaded the trucks that were ready for delivery. Then they occupied the canteen.

We convinced the IR manager to call the cops, as these guys were now interfering with business and were also trespassing.

The riot squad arrived and before the IR manager could explain the sensitivity of the situation to them, they fired teargas into the canteen.

Boy oh boy! They vacated the canteen in 2 seconds flat, coming out the doors, windows and ceiling!

End of problem! They carried on striking, and we carried on delivering! We saved on productivity and the off duty guys made some spending money.

Will call you next time for riot squad contacts, but will first have to build a canteen for strikers to occupy.

I don't know if anyone saw the nurses one day outside the Jhb Gen during the recent strike. The blocked the main entrance doing their body fat momentum dance whilst being repeatedly warned by the cops to clear the entrance. After a few minutes the cops, without further ado, fired some stun grenades and teargas to let the games begin. I have never seen sacks of lard take off like that before, each one outperforming Ben Johnson on Nandrolone!! It then got even better with their lack of bob & waeve skills which resulted in a pile up never to date seen in cycling!!!

The best was seeing their pathetic smug looks wiped off their faces!!

Trying hard not to give the workplace away Frosty but it's between Wadeville Rd and Dekema

Can then only be Dyson Road in Wadeville which would be the location of Macsteel Coil Processing. Dyson Road would be in a cul da sac??

my fave crowd control moment has to be during the security guard strike a coupla years back - not the most recent one - when the cops fired live ammunition. when the cop in charge was asked by a tv crew why they didn't use rubber bullets, he - with not a hint of humour - replied: "when they start frowing rubber stones, we'll start firing rubber bulleds"
