Saw these spesh ones in tread a while back, but does any company make something like that for 31,6mm posts ?

Profile designs also have some interesting stuff and cyclelab in centurion ha some other gizmo with a sort of zip tie fastener that you could mount cages to

Oh and try the giant bottels for the back and bottom, they have a lid that clicks on and covers the mouth piece.  Works very well in muddy conditions.  you can get them at sportsmans warehouse, about R25.

I like those specialized clamps...nice idea. anyone seen any in a shop in cape town?

I dont mind a camelbak - I have used one for a long time, but I get hot so extra heat build up because of lack of ventilation - not major but definitely an issue.

plentipotential: I am trying to win the race :)

Speak to a surgeon who specialises in colon surgery and have him tell you about the consequences of sharp objects penetrating down there. Please don't drill your seatpost.

I bet a bit of silicone sealant and two big cable ties will clamp a standard bottle cage perfectly well.

I got mine @ Olympic. I suppose most shops that stock Specialized will have them.

Glad you answered...... seatposts with deep scratches can also induce a failure on the scratch.... very much like the scratch you make on glass to break it. These scratches can come form when you try to extract a slightly stuck seatpost.

If you drill also pace a red arrow with the marking "break here" on the seatpost.

anyone use the zefal ones? not sure how good they would be compared to the machined specialized ones.

Ill try some of the zefal one sometime, I can carry 2 bottles in my frame but it's not enough for longer races with crappy water points, rather take more drinks with.

I used to ride with a plastic bottle cage fixed to the seatpost with 2 zipties, and cushioned with a length of double sided tape. Worked great. Cost R40.

Dunkeld cycles also has the Spez ones. Did not see price but saw it on the rack last week.
