Morewood / Black Mountain rider Fabien Cousinie (Cous Cous) had two prototype bikes with him at the Otter, a 2010.5 DH bike and a fully custom 4X machine.

 

 

 

DH Bike Details:

 

-Straight Top Tube (Kalula style tube set)

 

-Lighter frame due to new tube set

 

-Race set up is sub 17kgs (37.5 lbs)

 

-Same travel as the Makulu with tweaks to the linkage

 

-More progressive shock rate

Maybe it is the way the first photo of the DH bike was taken, but the front wheel looks a lot smaller than the back wheel.

The backwheel def looks like a 29 but i dont know theres something that just looks off to me on that bike. It doesnt quite look right.

i agree. it looks way off proportion...pity they had to tie the brake line with cable ties.  silly thing but it bugs me to have to do that....

looks too XC-ish for a full DH rig... the geometry looks off - maybe right witha 26'er on the back??? (if that's a 29er)

its just the angle, rear wheel is a 26" and the head angle is regular 64deg

thats what happens when you are your own team mechanic and have to build your bike the night before Sea Otter begins... ;)
