Where to find mineral oil?

Where can I find mineral oil for my disk brakes?

 

Seems like the lbs's don't stock them. One shop offered to sell me a bottle for R35 with enough oil to bleed one brake.

 

I can order from crc, but I'd like to have it as soon as possible.

Hahaha im sitting with a 1.5 or 2L here at home...Never opened... How much is it worth?

Try Solomons in Woodmead. They had a few small bottles a couple of weeks back.

I got some from a motorbike shop, KTM. It works great.

Rad, crc has them for R160 per litre with vat.

 

CWC has it for R130 per 100ml

At a garage. Unless it says it's synthetic then it's mineral based.

Ask Johan Borman, he would be able to tell you what to get I think that it is DOT4, but not sure then you can get it from Midas......

I use shimano, so I need mineral oil. DOT will ruin my seals or whatever.

 

I'll try a motorcycle shop. There's one not far from where I live.

Ill confirm what size the bottle is and we can take it from there

If you go to any good bike shop they should have. If they don't. they can get within a day or two from the local agents.

 

If you use any other oil than what is prescribed by the manufacturer your warranty will be void.

Brakes use either Dot 4 or Mineral Oil,

 

Shimano most definately uses mineral oil

HUGE difference between DOT$ and any mineral oil!!!

like they said...do not use the wrong oil with the wrong brake system...on the other hand you do not have to pay hundreds of bucks for the generic oil either...just stick to the same kind

Use motorex hydraulic oil . Perfect for all brake systems . You can also get the mineral hydraulic oil from mercedes , they use the oil in the active suspension models .
