Painting a MTB Frame?

Alright, I have all the goodies.. tx Brights.

I have taken the frame apart, removed the shock and cleaned it up. However.....

How the hell do you undo the bottom bracket/pivot? It has an allen-key bolt in it, removed, but there doesn't seem to be any way to take it apart? Any Raleigh RDS 9.0 frame owners out there?

Sammajoor, you joke!!!?!?!

I call City Cycles. They are not too sure and can't talk me through it over the phone (I'm technically minded and managed to srip the rest of the bike.. so I can't be that daft?) - please come through to the shop.

[i apologise if the chap that was on duty last night is reading this, but seriously, I'm not impressed, at all.]

"Ok cool, what will you charge me to remove the bottom bracket?", " I'm not sure, it depends.", "Alright, I'm on my way."

I arrived and we went to the back. He looks at the frame and immediately, I can tell he has no idea how to remove it. I watch google-eyed as he takes a hammer and allen-key to the frame - ultimately mashing the thread inside the joint that they allen-key bolt 'used' to screw into.

Eventually he gives it to the lacky in the work-shop, after having fked it up, and says "I'm going to leave this with you." He walks out.

Google-eyed again, I stand there in the workshop with my threadless frame in hand. Annoyed and frustrated. So I took their tools and re-threaded the thing myself and left.

So now.. I am in the same boat. Blasted Raleighs..

I AM ALARMED.

THIS IS MORE THAN SHOCKING: NO PPE: NO SKIN PROTECTION AND NO RESPIRATORY PROTECTION.

THIS PICTURE SHOULD BE SENT TO THE HEALTH DEPT AND THE LABOR DEPARTMENT.

I WOULD HOPE FOR THE HARSHEST OF PENALTIES TO BE IMPOSED FOR SUCH DISREGARD TO RULES AND REGULATIONS. I HOPE ALL ELECTRICAL ACCESSORIES IN THIS ROOM ARE CLASS 1.

TERRIBLE.

I HAVE DELIBERATELY POSTED THIS PICTURE.

Whoever sprays without protective gear doing some serious damage to themselves.

What is so bad about it,he is doing it himself and i see no gun pointed at him.

Looking at him i see a man who takes pride in his work.

I would let him spray my frame anyday!!!

You are ignorant !

Take the time to read the OHSA and the BCOEA.

Spraying involves thinners.

This man is seriously damaging his health. (and possibly the health of others).

He and his employer are contravening the law.

So who cares, where do you think your frame was sprayed?my guess a 13 year old chines girl who was smoking sprayed it.

Chill there are far more important things in life :)

He decided to work like that.

and plenty of others care, thats why its significant enough to be a law in this country.

There is also a law that says you can't steal but it's done daily.Laws are meant to be broken.

Sounds like you just got out of traffic cop school :)
