Minion Posted August 13, 2010 Share Sleep the night of the race is not as important as sleep two nights before the time.Try and get some extra/normal shut eye two nights before, and then the night before will not be such a big issue.I also find this works for me. I think part of the reasoning is that you may be pretty nervous the night before a race and so aren't likely to sleep so well anyway.
canfan Posted August 13, 2010 Share For me, it depends on the race. But I have found the more you race the less stressful it is. I have been doing at least 1 race a month this year, so now it is almost just like another day.

Richard Posted August 14, 2010 Share Agreed, get lucky with the wife, it's cheaper, better, faster way to get you to bed. No side effects associated with pills etc.

'Dale Posted August 14, 2010 Share Is it just me battling to sleep ok before a race?? What can i drink that will not effect my performance, but to sleep better?? I make sure to sleep well the day before the day before the race.Struggling with the same thang. Excitement.Carbo-load volumes energizing my system.Angst.Worrying about whether my helmet is packed. TIP: Warm milk / hot chocolate gets me sleepy. B)
