Cleaning a mountain bike

I agree, although I don't wash my bike evry time I ride it (depending on conditions, highveld winters let us get away with that!) BUT it is quickly looked over, MR Min'nned and lubed after each ride, once you get the hang of it its a 10 minute job but it will help you to see that broken spoke, loose cable, worn brake pad or save you from a long and boring walk home! I have the same outlook on my 4x4, in fact with anything you use, clean it so its always ready for the next time you need it. Besides, you have paid all that money for a bike, 4x4, table saw, whatever, look after it, you've paid for it!

Nice one there. I hate it when oil spill all over the place and I have to clean it up again. DOn't have a needle, but I'll just use a piece of pipe or something on a syringe

Your local chemist may sell you one, try and get a longish one, I bent mine a little bit and it makes it easier to get to parts.

Also try to get an "ONCE" brand disposable syringe..... it has an O ring and not a rubber plug. The oil dries the rubber plug and it becomes hard and brittle after a while.

on my google .. you okes either have way to much time on your hands - or you dont spend enough time riding.

the descriptions you guys give make it sound hectic - wash less, ride more! Make like stewie says - look after it the same way you would your tri bike.

Should be fine

haha slowbes i agree totally - the drivetrain is the only thing that's gonna break if i don't look after it - and after what i've paid for the last shock servive (stancheon replacement, effectively a new shock) i keep those clean as well. i'v never mr minned my bike - didn't even know it's possible - i'd rather ride my bike :)

Prepsol and a little spray bottle, Job done.

Then a wipe down with a little q20 on a dry rag (once bike is dry), lube chain, and your good to go!!

Viagra, vir 'n gesonde single 24jarige?

Al wat ek veronderstel is om by 'n apteek te koop is Pierce Brosnan se Nivea moisturiser

Thanks all!!! Keep it comming!!

My tri-bile is a Cervelo P3c and is very close to my heart and up to now my bum also. As its only used on the road, it doesnt nearly get as dirty as on the dust roads at 30km/h. I generally do not go out when its raining or very wet as this means major cleaning - I then rather train in anotther disciplin. Another reason for nor cycling in rain or mud is that I hate cleaning and yes I would rater ride!! My big problem is to many sports/hobbies. Triathlon (ironman distance), road running, K1 canoeing (anyone going to the Fish??), air riffling (mainly field raget), scuba diving, kayak fishing and photography. Oh and there is the wife and kids.

Why is a day so short!
