had this a couple of times. get some anti-bactecterial/fungul/infectial stuff asap to kill the sore. Always get out of your bib asap after a ride and take a shower. Shammy cream of 'speen salf' works wonders to prevent it. Someone also mentioned zumbuck.

Decent shorts or shammy cream solve the problem, not the cause. Well, tries to solve the cause, usually fails.

I used to have the biggest saddle sore troubles. Never comfy, never happy. Sores on the right hand side 80% more than the left.

Just got back from a tough 6 day tour and I do not have a single problem/sore/issue with my undercarriage thanks to my Selle SMP saddle. It may look "different" to put it lightly but if it works there is no arguing.

Available either from Omnico or www.comobike.com

Saddle sores are nasty. Mine turned into a bacterial infection(tinea cruris) that literally took two months of treatment, both oral and cremes to sort out. It was an itchy, painfull two months at that.

Ive also got a toupe now, but a 143 to suit my backside, maybe you got the wrong width.

Craven, that's some bling saddle !

But us normal okes who spend 3 x as many hours in a race as you do, might find it a tad uncomfortable.

I dont use the bling carbon one, I am on the stratos which is mid range.

The only bling factor is that I have two, on my training and racing bikes.

When it comes to my undercarriage I do not care about looks or weight, comfort is the only thing that counts!

As for time in the saddle, the 195km race we did the other day took quite a while to complete and the odd 7hour training rides no longer cause any discomfort. I should probably add that it does take a bit of time and effort to get the setting right, but once dialed in propperly it is a dream come true.

Judging by the ever increasing number of SMP's that one see's on the road I am obviously not the only one who likes them.

I dont wax but I do put some Mitchum unscented gel on "saddle area" it helps prevent chaffing which is caused by the bacteria in sweat Wink Trust me it works as I use it at work too bec overall pants+durban humidity+V16 engine running at 74degC=....well I'm sure you get the answer Wink
