cosborne Posted September 9, 2010 Share That Giant is a MED, so I'm thinking that it should fit you but you'd have to go & have a look. The trick is the ISP. Bike shops can sometimes get upset but that's their problem. They shouldn't charge you more than R500 to put the bike together. I had a bike put together the other day and the bike shop charged me R200. My LBS wanted to charge me R500 to put on shifters and RD! Robbery! I ride a 50-52cm frame but prefer the smaller if i can get it, just handles better. R500 i think is reasonable for a full bike build, considering it takes about 3-4 hrs to build and setup? Bike stores need to become service orientated and take the money they can get without ripping you a new 1? Indigo, u scored there @ R200 FYI - you can spec a really good bike if you can find the frame you like.Integrated Bar/Stem, from Kiwi R1750 (New)Groupset SRAM Froce from Kiwi R6500 (New)Wheels Round R5000 would give you decent (else R2500)Pedals R1000 (Seen Keo Carbon's for R1000)Saddle R1000That's R15250 so far (frames, i've seen new Raleigh RC7000C's for R4500 NEW! Else even a used Madone frame for Sub R10k?) I'd say that's a NEW bike spec, sub 9kg's for R20k? Or higher spec frame for Sub R30k, sorry, not sure what you're looking at doing or what you're willing to spend Just know it can be done, how i built my bike and theHub is a great source of info and where to buy what Good luck, welcome to the light :D

X-Gear Posted September 22, 2010 Share I'm wanting to buy a road bike soon. B) Not really sure what to go for. Is CRC a good place to buy? Saw this cube bike http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/LargeImage.aspx?ModelID=44405 which has Shimano Ultegra and weighs 8.45kgs. Costs just under 11k. Seems like a sweet deal to me, am I mistaken?Road biking too dangerous. Cannot compete with taxis. Stick to MTB. With an extra R11k, you can pimp your MTB B)
