MichH Posted September 4, 2007 Share It was with a sad heart that I viewed the 'Access Denied' screen. The day had come. My work access to TheHub had been restricted. So it is with a heavy heart that I bid farewell to my daytime friends. I luckily have Internet Access at home, but it's on dialup, so my post count is sure to drop. SOB! Ah well, it had to happen eventually, maybe I'll get more work done!

epoh Posted September 4, 2007 Share Michelle, I am sure a 3G card/Data bundle will be no problem for you?? Plug it into your laptop and away you go..
MichH Posted September 4, 2007 Share Yep, 3G card is on my shopping list! But for now I have sllllloooooowwwwww dialup (pulls hair out!)
Dibles Posted September 4, 2007 Share MichH, I think what Epoh is suggesting is that you use the 3G card at work. I run iBurst at work (which I pay for myself) as I find it much less hassle than having to deal with the work's internet and mail server. It is in full view of my boss and he has never complained about it. Can you imagine what will happen to the Commencal sales if you're not online to promote their bikes during the daytime? Can't have that now can we!
Tumbleweed Posted September 4, 2007 Share no! no! say it ain't so! that's real crap, my friend!the only positive is that it's gonna drive up the price of signed copies of the latest ride magjust so you don't feel alone, i am the subject of an "internet usage audit" at work at the moment, but i think i've covered my trails
AndreZA Posted September 5, 2007 Share Mich, do they have tour permission to block you? Heard it on the radio Monday afternoon that they have to get your permission to monitor or block your access. If it's in your employment aggreement and you accepted, they can do it.

AndreZA Posted September 5, 2007 Share think you might have problems there - it is the work's "property" for business. Does not matter. The same as they specify that you are not allowed to missuse the phones for personal use the same way they must specify use of the internet. Tumbleweed Posted September 5, 2007 Share gonna agree with mampara on this one. my company has a very specific internet usage policy - which i flout every day without faili once managed to convince them that i needed to view www.avn.com for reserach purposes.
