2teeth Posted September 11, 2007 Share hi alli am looking into buying myself a polar watch or monitor for my bike. it is basically a choice between the watch type(CS300) and the cycle specific(CS400) one. i see they both have way more than enough settings and things too check your training, heart rate, planning, altitude etc. is it really needed too have all these settings?i obviously want too get the most out off the product, so will i use all this? cause i dont really see the point in paying alot for something that i am not really going too use. and who has these products and use all the settings? or should i go with more simple? CaptainDura Posted September 11, 2007 Share I use a polar 725 and cannot function without it. It can be used for running or cycling (or any other event that gets your heartrate up) is waterproof so it can even be used while swimming. It is one of those purchases that keeps on giving. I can honestly advise to buy the polar.

Brakkies Sport Fotos Posted September 11, 2007 Share buy the 725i with the carbon face (i think you get 2 types of the 725's) Easy to install, easy to setup. http://www.sportsdirect.co.za/?Task=Category&CategoryID=29305&HeadingText=Monitors

Spinnekop Posted September 11, 2007 Share Had the 720i and now the CS600. Bike specific. The more gadgets / toys / settings, the cooler it is to play with........Get what you can afford and enjoy!! Positives about the Cycle specific:It stays on the bike.Easier to mount on flat barsLooks better.Negatives:You cannot take it to the spinning class around your wrist. Can't wear it while having sex.Good luck!!!
g00s3m4n Posted September 11, 2007 Share i used to use a CS200 (the 300 - 600 were not out when i bought it) andi loved it, gave me all the info i needed. upgraded to a S725X and ilove it even more, the main reason for the upgrade i guess was for thepower meter functionality that the CS200 does not have. i guess the question to ask yourself is, what do i need? if you needheart rate, speed and cadence, the CS300 or even CS200 will be a goodbuy. if you need altitude, temp etc.. you may need a more expensivemodel. wrt cycling only or watch type, i guess thats a personal preference, idont ever wear my 725 as a watch, maybe only when i drive to my morningrides, and that is only because i dont like leaving it on my bike whenthe bike is on the caddy! andrewbell Posted September 11, 2007 Share Have the CS300 best investment watchwise that i have ever made, don't do much without it. Monitors all my cycling needs and then is a day to day watch as well.

CaptainDura Posted September 12, 2007 Share Negatives:You cannot take it to the spinning class around your wrist. Can't wear it while having sex. Well you could put it in the condom to give yourself some girth. That way it will serve a dual purpose....just remember to wear your hr belt as well...
