Interesting.. this is directly in response to a discussion I had with him last week on twitter

 

He said that cyclists were being selfish by hosting the argus in cpt. 30k cyclists is a minority and it inconveniences the majority of cape town residents.

 

I gave him facts and figures. eventually he threw his toys and told me to sod off

And shown again.....some dude has his panties in a twist over cyclists....even goes so far to threaten their lives.....(This is old news!!)

 

And all you bunch can do is bicker amongst each other?

I hope that, while you bunch of cyclists squabble about who has the biggest poephol, Mr. Vegtor doesn't kill one or two cyclist .....

Well, one has to accept he has a point. Certainly there will be people who are inconvenienced and certainly there will be businesess who will lose a days takings, which, to a small struggeling business, may mean the differance between making payroll or not.

 

I know the owners of the P&P on Witkoppen road which was closed down to traffic for the 94.7, they say they lose a lot of money even though the road is sort of open, and if people really want to they can access the shop, but people dont, they know the race is on so they avoid the area, the McDonalds next door as well.

 

I dont say dont have the race, not at all, and I dont know the answer, but I just think its a valid point he raised.

Mostly I like the way he blames cyclists for taking over the city.

 

Shouldn't he be blaming the organisers/government/police? I mean they are the arranging parties. Us cyclists are just the customers!

I guess his theory is if the cyclists didnt participate there wouldnt be a race, hense no disruption.
