This moan will not be complete without the make and model bicycle the 'cyclist' was riding. Maybe it was the sticker on the frame than made him do it....

The curse of the sponsored kit/club riders strikes again. To the guys in charge of the Toyota CycleLab Supercycling - you might want to give your members a refresher, or in fact first time course on the rules of cycling. rolleyes.gif

Saw a mountain biker riding on the M3 this morning, Muizenberg direction. It really doesn't do these clubs/teams/sponsors much good when your members are breaking the rules of the road. Again, I would hope that these "big" clubs would be setting the example for others, yet they are more often than not the ones riding in bunches on the roads etc etc.

Peace out. smile.gif

dude...dont you work or are you a reporter?

If I remember correctly every morning you type some post here of some cyclists...if they want to be stupid and cycle on the free ways let them, if they get knocked down, its their fault....they will do it again and again! You can even buy the cyclelab clothing so you dont even have to be a member of the club :) Just leave it and let them learn the hard way....

It's called trying to make a difference so that the people involved in cycling who can have the biggest, most positive influence do just that! CycleLab / SuperCycling and Mr Price GT (in my one & only other post about cyclists misbehaving) are two such groups/companies who could make things better for all cyclists out there, not just those that pay to be their members or ride for their team.

To me, not doing something about a problem is actually contributing to the problem. The problem is motorists can and will take out their frustrations with cyclists who are law-abiding, as a result of others doing wrong and pissing them off. wacko.gif

I would just hope that both the companies/sponsors I mentioned above reiterate that their members set a good example for all cyclists. It's not a lot to ask.smile.gif

I suppose you also send emails/phone BMW, Audi, Ferrari etc when you see someone driving those cars and they cut in front of you without indicating or drive to fast and ask them to send a nice letter to everyone who drives their cars reminding them to obey all the rules of the road?

The only sections on the M3 that is closed for cycling is the freeway section, so it would be interesting to find out exactly where this cyclist was.

It is for instance legal to cycle on the N2 between knysna and storms river as it is legal to cycle on the M3 after hospital bend to the top of wynberg hill, and in town from Roeland Street to the intersection with Buitengracht street.

Who says this is legal?
