TYRE CHOICE FOR ROCKY TRAILS

Anybody got some advice on the best tyres for extremely rocky terrain?

 

Something that doesn't get cut into pieces on every decent?

We have the WOLVERINE 2.2 which has proven really good for the more technical and rocky terrain. Then new for 2011 is the BRONSON ( as in: Charles ) which we should have available in the new TCS ( Tubeless Compatible System ) version around January 2011. This tyre should be popular in the CTN area in Winter

I ride the Kenda Nevegal 2.1 up front, and a Karma 2.1 at the back. Works great, just klapped it down Table Mountain (very rocky) and must say they are confidence inspiring. And the UST Tubeless casing takes a hell of a beating.

 

I still have to try the Weirwolf though.

I have had problems in rocky terrain and have finally settled with Maxxis - UST Monorail on the front and Crossmark on the rear, have not managed to destroy them yet.

Got Kenda Blue Groove John Tomac signature editions on my DH bike. Also hold up well on rocky descents!
