What bike do you ride info on entries

What is this new nonsense with entering the Amashova, Argus and the 94.7 that they want to know what bike you ride, and how much it cost. I ride a red one with 2 wheels costing R 1000 000 000 000.

Seriously, this makes the race stats look good with total value of bicycles, no. of entries etc..

I wouldn't worry too much about it, its probably to build an argument for the marketing team to use when trying to attract new advertisiers etc.

I.e. saying that cyclists are top LSM's as they can spend so much $ on bikes etc

Gonna mess their stat up cos I can't remember it on the original entry earlier this year, so unless my memory is really messed, the exercise will deliver a skewed result

Agree, it must be for this sort of reason. If everyone answered the question it would surely generate an impressive figure, added to which could be the estimated cost of personal gear..

This is also some research into the industry to determine the growth and popularity of the sport. Also to get a trend on brands and spending habbits in the industry. Does not seem to be nonsense but research.

As a stat collecting excercise its hopeless.

 

As in any poll based system there are a lot of people who will either under or over state the required particulars, especially when it comes to monetary values, few folk want to say their bike was a special at Makro and cost R400.00 even if nobody cares or even reads it.
