Just had a bad experience on the hub.

The guy sells a saddle on the hub and leaves his cellphone number, I call him as fast as I can, he tells me the saddle is still for sale, we agree to meet at his work place the following day to make the deal, he gives me the adress and everything.

Then a few hours later I receive a SMS: " Sorry I have sold the saddle to a friend".

 

Come on hubbers, please behave when you sell something on the hub. When you agree to sell something to somebody, just stick to it, otherwise it gets really annoying...

I had a similar experience last week when I wanted to buy a Bell helmet. Was the first one to post a reply. Arranged a time and place to meet the guy. On my way to meet him, I phoned to confirm the address, when he informed me that he sold it already. WTF?

yeah had that happen to me as well.

 

Also some guys say they want to take the item and you "reserve" it for them they become unavailable or difficult to get hold of.

He advertised something on the Hub (an extension unit for a handlebar). I called him up, we agreed a price, I paid the money into his account via EFT and he NEVER SENT IT. I have sent him numerous queries and he does not respond.

 

I was going to ignore it as it was only R50 but the principle is an issue!!!

Especially those idiots who say that they will buy an item from you, you then agree on a price and you never hear from them again!

In the mean time you have told other guys that the item is sold, so if they don't have the decency to let you know that they are no longer interested, then name and shame them!

Very annoying also when ppl agree to buy something, post 'I'll take it or dibs' on your thread, or even PM you, you send them bank details and they never respond again...
