from what i know of that area wrt roadworks all road users driving outbound from CT to S'town use the Main Rd, from S'town to CT all road users must use Boyes Drive.

What do the local clubs do on their weekend rides?

The issue is that cars park on both sides of the street, its a matter of time, before someone pulls out, while checking their blind spot -  and ploughs into a cyclist heading the wrong way down the one way.

Perhaps the bigger problem is the general lack of respect for the law in our country, its deeply disturbing to see cyclists trying to explain their cycling the wrong way down a one way on the basis of it's not convenient for them to obey the law.

Is this a problem elsewhere in the world or just white male south africans that think they can do as they please?

listen to cape talk, listeners are and were complaining about cyclists going against the flow of traffic. We often moan about motorists being inconsiderate towards us but we not helping it by ignoring the rules of the road, its a one way and a accident waiting to happen

I live here and I ride both ways down the one way in a safe, orderly and life-preserving manner, causing obstruction to nobody and zero endangerment of life.

Anyone who has their knickers in a twist over this, including everybody who feels the need to discuss it on Cape Talk whilst gangsters are shooting each other 10k's away in Hanover Park, must please get a life.

Clearly certain cyclists seem to think that its ok to cycle down a one way, go through red robots and just have a general disregard for the law.

I cant believe some can say "we should try and obey the rules"

I don't think any of the cycling clubs or PPA would approve of this

Anyway enough said cause i cant convince those doing it that it irresponsible.

Safe cycling

Dude, you were doing so, so well in your argument, genuinely, and then you just dropped 50 IQ points in one hideously stupid generalisation.

They only recently made that a one way for the roadworks.

I sometimes ride up the wrong way in the early hours, but I ride on the pavement for the section under construction currently.

Runners have been on the wrong side for years and nobody calls them mad?

Should not be riding on the pavement!

The other problem is that Mountain bikers were riding on the pavement also in the wrong direction. There was a lady walking on the pavement pushing a pram and the MTB`s did not move off the pavement!!! Instead the lady had to step off the pavement into the road with the pram???????

I am a mountain biker and this is just stupid

For those guys out there, you are stupid f*#%ers! Go ride in/on the trails!

And to you the law is????????

Oh yes every one else must obey the law.............and I will shout and Stomp when someone else

breaks the law.

But I can do no wrong!

And just let someone get killed. Fkn drivers.
