Never used Grips shifts, But I can imagine that it could be in the way when I do a Wheely for the lady's and that I don't want to mess up.

When I say " in the way" I mean shifting when I don't need to etc etc.

it is what you used to... i had sram triggers for 2 years, then gripshift for 18 months, now been on XT triggers for 6 months.... liked all of them.

On the triggers, i much prefer the shimano "2 way release" to the sram triggers.

Come to think of it, i dont think i will ride grip shift again???

Used SLX and now on X9's, i def agree that the "2 way release" is an awesome option!

Not unhappy with my X9's tho, they quick and 5 gear shift in a single sweep?

My gripshifts seized on my on day 2 of the Epic in muddy rainy conditions......

Had blisters on both hands by day 4. <_<

Replaced with triggers and it has been 4 years now with NO problems!

I had grip shift that came with my bike and changed to triggers after a few months. Personal preference, I tend to brake late and change gears late as I enter corners. (I know no doubt bad practice). The trouble I found with the grip shift was I would be braking and change gears and due to the twisting of the grip shift I would suddenly grab more brake and almost crash. Just could not skake the habit so bought triggers and never looked back.

Replace them after 2 years for about R600.

why go through the trouble when triggers will keep lasting you problem, wear and tear and replacement free

The same reason why we keep riding crankbrother pedals. It wears faster, but it's still worth it.

Also, the only guys that say you shift by accident are the ones that never used gripshifts. At the rideb4buy, I continueously shifted by accident with the trigger shifters and I got blisters on me fingers. Probably because I'm used to gripshifts.
