I'm not doing the 94.7 or have done more than 50km on tar but slicks do make a difference depending on your definition of slicks.

I had some Kenda 1.25's I got from Sportsmans for R100 a tyre and they where awful - gave them to another Hubber for free. I nearly saw tar a few times when hitting a pothole and they where uncomfortable.

I then got some Town & Countries, 1.9" (MTB Slicks :) ), and love them. So comfortable and they grip the tar. I commute everyday with them and they take the punch.

Lot's of difference between road bike and MTB. Biggest difference in terms of efficiency is tyres due to rolling resistance - it is worthwhile

my slicks are substantially thinner than the knobblies. big enough to use different inner tubes; so i can imagine that there will be a bit of a weight difference. biggest advantage is the much less rolling resistance. i like the sound of whirr-whirr when i ride on tar, but that's eating up the knobblies and energy.

was wondering if you can convert them to tubeless on stans rims ?

don't know about the pressure - you could always do it & go test tomorrow?

Smooth tyre surface compared to knoblies

I will try them tomorrow, should make quite a difference
