Funny enough Gumpole - these are not 'fat people' as you put it. Be careful not to generalise................

I'm sure they weren't...

I've added a 'rolleyes' smiley to illustrate that I'm not being serious!

I went to school with Jan Hnizdo, and he does a lot of mtb racing. Cant imagine him needing to cheat at anything, he is fit enough and a mtbker to boot not to worry about this too much.

Are you also going to list the rest of the big bunch finishers that share the same time OPC race?

Arron Brown and co come to mind... dont be rediculous.

Brown, Arran $ 2:15:44 2/16243 M 2/12461 1/1602 2/114 43.06

Lange, Malcolm $ 2:15:44 3/16243 M 3/12461 2/2045 3/114 43.06

Maree, David $ 2:15:44 4/16243 M 4/12461 1/653 4/114 43.06

It does happen, the guy from my old cycleclub used to get his brother in law to race with his chip. Could never understand how he started before me and i would pass him but his time was faster than mine

This is something that i have witnesed myself this last weekend at the 94.7

A lady (she knows who she is) was on the side line cheering us on up heartbreak hill, yet she has an official finishing time of just over 3 hours, a time she would definitly not achieve on her own

I know who the lady is but dont know who carried her chip. She'll be confronted this evening at her spinning class in front of her friends and shown up top be the cheat that she is. I can wait to see the expression on her face......

the biggest problem with these cheats is that the non-chip-wearing rider ends up starting in a bunch ahead of their ability... then they cause accidents because they don't know how to ride etc. i hope that karma teaches them all a lesson - both parties in the cheat - by having an inept rider take them out and land them in hospital with briken bones and faces ripped to shereds and having to either live with the scars or have plastic surgery to fix it. will serve them right to suffer the way that the victims of idiot riders suffer...

no that is NOT a makeup smudge or excess sunlotion on my face - it is a scar - it will not rub off and i do NOT appreciate you trying  if it bugs you then give me the friggin money to go to a plastic surgeon (yes, i've had a few people in the last 3 days make mention of my scars - most irritating)

I went to college with a guy who made the front pages of the Citizen, Rand Daily Mail and Die Burgher, for killing his wife.

Why have 3 chips on your leg, valid question?

Bunch finish ? :D

So who was he/she ?

Like I mentioned earlier, I rode with this dude with THREE timing chips around his ankle that came in at that time..... Didnt ask him which of the three he was... :D

Personally I would do it in private, not in front of everyone. It may have been an honest mistake i.e chips got mixed up and a friend / family member rode with hers instead of theirs.

Its a bit different if you catch someone riding with 2 chips, that clearly is cheating.

i always lend my chip to my fast friends...just in case theirs doesnt register. :D

petrol

no, serious - its silly that guys do it. but hey, where there is competition there will be cheaters

I saw one dude ducking off the N1 before Joe Slovo and two dudes meeting up where the route joins Joe Slove again !! Not to mention a bloke skipping the town loop and riding straight ahead on the freeway.

I know some people with chips on their shoulders... Unfortunately, you will always get people who cheat. By the way, I wasn't at the 94.7 cycle challenge on Sunday, so i don't know if I'm entitled to state my opinion.

This isnt only about the 94.7 ..... your opinion is welcome .......it goes about being honest and riding to your ability. These people prevent others of better ability starting at correct times and are causes of bunch accidents etc.
