where to sleep over for one night and mtb

hi guys, where would you recommend a 1 night stay over for some mtb? must be in or around jhb/pta? don't want to drive too far

+1. Their rooms & meals are great. They did have a cycling special earlier in the year, with a per room rate (so you could crowd people in if you wanted) at very cheap prices, you just needed to stary for 2 nights minimum.

Jokes aside, is there anywhere where you can pack a tent and some food and go off into the hills on your bike and camp out?

I know you can pitch a tent at rietvlei dam in PTA, cost something like R60 pp/night. I think there are also some MTB trails, not to sure... anyone??

sabie is definately the place to go . . . . .Absolutely amzing riding!! its just heaven with lots of Well priced lodges to stay in or even BAckpacker cabins.

Nothing better than a day of amazing riding in the sabie forests

Nope, the trails aren't worth it.

I am heading there for the first time on the 16th. Saw the hightlights of the 3towers race and it looked awsome. The camping is really cheap as well.

Ingwe Bush Camp - You ride past it on the Breedtsnek route, just after the first major turn bend to the left.

Never ridden there myself, but have checked out there website, and apparently there are some decent climbs up to the towers, etc. All whilst you're amongst the game. So, I reckon that could be a good spot. If all else fails, you could cycle from there, up and over Breedtsnek.
