Do they cover races?

My household stuff is through Zurich, but they do not cover races and I ws with them until I realised Sabie is too big a risk to not have race insurance.

I doubt it, that's why I took out additional insurance with Cyclesure

I think they are all the same, just remember to always read the fine print!

And as an X employer of mine used to say "Paperwork always wins!"

I insured my cars on their website and it has saved me atleast R1000 per month.

I have not had a reason to claim from them yet, so until then they have been good for me!

Their admin is (deleted). (deleted). Just when I think there is closure, someone phones, apologises and (deleted) tells me EXACLTLY what is going on...

Ok.... Dum dum duuuuuummmmm. A very helpful lady from MiWay, to my relief, contacted me and cleared up all the poo and nonsense regarding the admin fee. Strangely enough, it was my post on the Hub that alerted her to what was going on.

Legend, but also scary in a sense. They read what I wrote here. OK, so it is supposed to be R10/month and NOT R65/month. It is some system error which was not rectified as from 1 Dec 2010, and the online quote thing was to blame.

I thank Gretha for the clarification, and also for someone who knows whats going on speaking to me. When people don't know stuff goes wrong.

So now I know. My premium will be reduced, and MiWay will keep two, happier, customers and this post will be edited to remove my previous frustations. Pity is had to come to that to get something done though!

Thanks Gretha.

Yes it is a bit unfortunate. But this kind of stuff seems to find me in life. Oh well.

Hopefully it is sorted now.

They can really pirce gouge you if you are not careful. Commissions are regulated. No more than 15% on personal lines. Admin fees are not regulated and they can charge whatever they want. Direct insurers like Miway also have a claims repudiation ratio of 6%-8% while tradional insurers are in the 1% to 5% range.

Commissions are actually 12.5% on motor premiums and 20% on non motor premiums.

Ja so the promised policy was only sent this morning, after it was sent but not attached, and then the person who email still has the cheek to tune me to look at my emails. WTFrikkedel!!!!!??????

Jo MiWay. GET YOUR ACT TOGETHER BIG TIME.

StOp paying lip service and blowing smoke up your customer's bums and deliver.

I hope you read this!

Well as far as I know the bikes is insured for any accident, stolen,etc...so with a race you fall its a accident. Almost think we did claim ages ago when my bro had a accident with his bike where they guttered him in a race

Okay so if you never complained on the hub, would they ever have informed you of an error? How many other people got that same error? if it was R20 rather then you can excuse it, but a error of R55? R55 x their 20000 clients ads to a huge amount...

My opinion is they should have instructed you on the 1st of December aready regarding the error not when you name and shame them...cause if no one brought it up they could have scored all the way!

Thats just my opinion...

I always wonder about this. The same with bike shops. They are not registered but as soon as they are "exposed" they post comebacks. Someone is talking.
