'Dale Posted February 14, 2011 Share Quite a decent race from my perspective (only the mediocre are always at their best). I started in the last group, waiting for a friend. Managed 2:44 (against 3:25 for the 80km Langebaan Lagoon, or 2:50 for last year's 64km Ninty-Niner) so I can be content. Well done to all - how the hell does anyone finish under 2hours? - and you okes who did both races this weekend are absolute machines!Those top riders train for many hours. I can only but try Working on a 33 km Average, should actually work out to just above that, maybe in the 3:10 - 3:15. Just need to stay on track, cause the BIG funride I would REALLY like to come in at around 3:40. Climbing is getting a bit stronger, managed to average 18.9km for OKW, Slangkop and Boyes, so if i can up that tempo to around 20 - 20.5 in the next month, I recon the 3:40 Peninsula Funride is going to be OK.
