All people deserve to die! We have no idea as to our shortcomings and the level of condemnation we deserve! God hates sin! He hates sinners. The question should not be "why does God kill innocent babies?" but it should be "why does God save sinners?"

Either/or, neither/nor... the big man only gets it right, 50:50... these gods these days... sheesh.

God hates? What? I can get that God cannot abide sin, but I can't think that hate is an emotion God knows. I think you need to read the teachings of Jesus. Hell, even try the Gospel according to Lennon and Mcartney... Love is what its supposed to be about.

My PB cost me R50 at the "off-ramp mall" Good deal. I know it doesn’t work, and is a fake, but so are all of them, hey I made one person happy, for he can now buy himself a few beers.

You mean like:

You know who I pray to? Joe Pesci. Joe Pesci. Two reasons; first of all, I think he's a good actor. Okay. To me, that counts. Second; he looks like a guy who can get things done. Joe Pesci doesn't **** around. Doesn't **** around. In fact, Joe Pesci came through on a couple of things that God was having trouble with. For years I asked God to do something about my noisy neighbor with the barking dog. Joe Pesci straightened that cock-sucker out with one visit.

George Carlin I noticed that of all the prayers I used to offer to God, and all the prayers that I now offer to Joe Pesci, are being answered at about the same 50 percent rate. Half the time I get what I want. Half the time I don't. Same as God 50-50. Same as the four leaf clover, the horse shoe, the rabbit's foot, and the wishing well. Same as the mojo man. Same as the voodoo lady who tells your fortune by squeezing the goat's testicles. It's all the same; 50-50.

So just pick your superstitions, sit back, make a wish and enjoy yourself.

And for those of you that look to the Bible for it's literary qualities and moral lessons; I got a couple other stories I might like to recommend for you. You might enjoy The Three Little Pigs. That's a good one. It has a nice happy ending. Then there's Little Red Riding Hood. Although it does have that one X-rated part where the Big Bad Wolf actually eats the grandmother. Which I didn't care for, by the way. And finally, I've always drawn a great deal of moral comfort from Humpty Dumpty. The part I liked best: "and all the king's horses, and all the king's men couldn't put Humpty together again." That's because there is no Humpty Dumpty, and there is no God. None. Not one. Never was. No God.

I think just John... But hey, the vengeful, hating God got him in the end anyway... Took some time, and had to use some other bloke as the trigger man, but God got it done.

A band called Slayer has an album called "God Hates Us All"... I never, ever thought thought their sweet, charming ditties could be reclassified as Christian Rock... but hey, the theologist has convinced me! :D

"God Hates Us aallllll..."

Killing 42 "youths" for laughing at a bald "prophet" is OK? Shapiro is in the dwang.

The nation had been denounced. The "youths" were simply emulating what their parents were doing (bad) - LESSON: Watch what you teach your kids!

"If a man happens to meet a virgin who is not pledged to be married and rapes her and they are discovered, he shall pay the girl's father fifty shekels of silver. He must marry the girl, for he has violated her. He can never divorce her as long as he lives. (From the NIV Bible, Deuteronomy 22:28)"...

SO IS THERE NOT A PENALTY IN THAT? It is not implying RAPE is ACCEPTABLE, but rather that it carried a penalty. You would only get about 2 years today.

Marriage on the other hand is (should be) for a lifetime.

Its different if she was married to somebody else. Then it all depends on whether a witness heard her cry out or not. If she was not heard to cry out then it was deemed consensual and they were both stoned to death. An unmarried girl has no op out clauses. This is a great way to meet girls.

Any deponent testifying today would have a hard time convincing a judge that she was raped if she was not able to answer that she struggled or cried out. Many women claim rape today when they were in fact not raped. Proponents who campaign against rape state that 'crying out' is one of the biggest psychological deterents against rape. - Again a LESSON in there, not a judgement against women. Read Leviticus18:6-24

Psalm 137 9... which starts with "By the rivers of Babylon ..etc has a last verse which goes something like this depending on the exact translation ...

"O Babylon, you devastator,

Happy shall they be who pay

you back

what you have done to us!

Happy shall be they who take

your little ones

and dash them against the rock!"

The Babylonians were a nation steeped in war, and a form of worship that eventually saw the entire nation destroy itself. At that stage they had the 'chosen nation' of the GOD of the bible in captivity. Like the Romans, their debauched social activities eventually led to their demise. Children who emulate parents who have no regard for good will become like their parents.

As to how got feels about children and families the Bible has valuable lessons for all regardless of belief at Exodus 22:22-24

For Jehovah's witnesses ...

The exactly 144,000, who will rule with Jesus as kings and priests over earth are male, Jewish, already dead and must be virgins. No women! The rest hope to live forever in an earthly paradise (male and female) after the millennium judgment.

Heaven is correct for the 144 000, earthly paradise for the rest is not far off.

My only suggestion here is that you verify this with them, next time they come knocking. The 144000 they believe have a heavenly calling can be either male or female. They do not have to be Jewish, based on their belief that the Jewish nation are no longer the chosen nation of GOD. They believe that some among them today still have the ability to become one of the 144000, whom they refer to as ANNOINTED.

Muslims ... There is a funny story, that the 72 virgins was mistranslated, its supposed to be "sweet white grapes"

That is indeed a funny STORY.

My facts are pretty straight ... I see thing as they are written. Hardly a spout?

You are simply extrapolating portions of the bible to underpin your belief that the GOD of Christians is unjust and cruel without looking at the larger portion that proves otherwise.

If God knows your life, i.e when you are born and when you die, then you have no free will. If God knows you are going to die as an aborted baby, then this was His plan and there is nothing you can do about it. I.e. He supports abortion.

If you are going to die up Maritime hill on Sunday of a heart attack, then you cannot choose not to do the Cape Cobra, because that is the PLAN! You may make no decision that God has not already decided upon. I.e no free will. Sad.

In the vernacular, that is the contradiction between the doctrines of free will and the claim of omniscience.

Perhaps we should leave the theology up to the theologanes... ;) With religion there are always going to be different opinions. I feel another snake thread coming on...

Interesting point of view.

Children must pay for the sins of their parents?

Whilst you cant un-rape the women, perhaps she does not want to be married to her rapist, but her life is destroyed unless she marries as nobody else will have her now. I would like the victim to be given the choice as to whether the rapist is punished or not.

If a married women is not heard (she did scream her head off before being beaten into submission and raped) to cry out (may be no witnesses), then she is still stoned to death.

This is pretty cruel and unjust ... The oxen stumble, he tries to steady the ark and boom ....!

2 Samuel 6:6, 7 - And when they came to Nachon's threshing floor, Uzzah put out his hand to the ark of God and took hold of it, for the oxen stumbled. Then the anger of the Lord was aroused against Uzzah, and God struck him there for his error; and he died there by the ark of God.
