Fish Eagle Posted January 15, 2011 Posted January 15, 2011 Am looking for any suggestions re what is a good bar to ride/race on...I generally use PVM/Jungle Bars/USN and the odd mule bar for special occassions Thing is, I dont want to pay a fortune for bars, so has anyone got suggestions of what they ride on that doest cost R20 a bar, as the aforementioned ones have been overused and I need to try something new (but am not sure what!) Thx

(was cheap to make and I swear I rode better than normal when I rode with them) Otherwise Redbar is a good brand as are Powerbar. My personal fav for special occasions is Enervit bars but once again:not cheap. See Biogen also now has a new bar.

Powerbars are pretty good, i tried one awhile back...i would definitely ride with one again.Please mail or PM the recipe to me...my mate tried making some but they didnt work out (they didnt like leaving the fridge )Thx

The beauty of Powerbar for me is that a race of approx 100km means 1 Powerbar, and I feel that I have way more energy throughout the race. I've tried peanut butter (pretty good), choc (ok), berry (yuck!) and cookies and cream (yum!). Highly recommended.

The cookies and cream was the one I tried (amazing ) but based on above, i have a lot to work with, which is great as i was SERIOUSLY getting over PVM's!
