If that didn't make you laugh then you are having a real bad day..... so the best place for you would be to stay in BED!!!!!! A lot safer for all

I find the only way to stay motivated is to have a goal or target. Have you entered any races? When I got back from France in July I took a few weeks break and then I entered the 94.7 so I knew that I had to train for it. Then you have to do the mind thing and start imaging your self acheiving your goal, staying with your bunch, winning your category or acheiving a personal best, whatever it might be.

What are your plans for the rest of the year?

the big plan is doing the 24-hour solo in december, and i know i've got to get hours in on the singlespeed. i think that's what's getting me so down. i know what i should be doing, instead i'm pottering around the house fretting about what i'm not doing! there's also cradle to cave in the interim, but i'm not worried about that. but you're absolutely right, i gotta get focused. maybe a second brekkie and a trip to the lbs will sort me out

If I was doing the 24hr solo on a singlespeed I think I would be out 8 hours a day training Big%20smile. Good luck. Will probably see you there, only problem is it clashes with the Ian Kernick 200km audax which is also a cool ride.

furthest i've been so far on the ss was the cratercruise. i've not seen the bike since last week, cos the gearing was way too high and it went into the shop cos i wrecked the handlebars and headset. but you've put the fear of the cycling gods into me. i'm gonna ride at about 10 this morn.

Sounds like you getting just plain lazy HR. Next you know you will take your dogs for a walk like this

Saw something similar to this on Tuesday, was playing Golf at Dainfern and  because the houses are all around the course you can take your dog for a walk and stuff. This big fat guy was taking this beautifull Golden Retreiver for a run, but needles to say he was driving in the Golf cart and the dog was doing the running. I thought that was terrible because if any one of them needed the exercise it was him not the dog.

Funny though the lady I was playing with shouted that at him as I was thinking it!!!!!LOL

no need to worry...imagine how you would feel if you had to eat or drink only your favourate for 3 weeks, every meal of every day.  needless to say you get fed-up.  take a rest.  try to 4get about the bike(s) for a few days.  it will come right, if you are talking about the Desert dash, you will need your training tough, as you are going solo

thanks, man! just picked up the ss from the shop - now with a much easier gear than the 42X15 i dragged through the vredefort dome. it's now at 39X18. the 24-hour is the northern farm one, but i almost got involved in the desert dash with a team - yikes, looks moerse hard!
