What tyres do not delaminate with Stan's?

So I just found out today that my Specialised Captain on the rear is delaminating with Stan's tubeless slime (after I read that these were one of the few types that didnt delaminate with this slime) . I previously had a problem with my Bontragers (which came with the bike), so i switched the back - the front doesnt seem to have had an issue strangely. Any suggestions on what tyres DONT delaminate with Stans? (I love this slime and dont really want to change to anything else)

It has also happened to me. It is caused by the amonia in the sealent, this is not only problematic with Stans. I now use Effetto Latte, no amonia content.

I have also had a Mavic Crosmmax rim get coroded arounfd the valve opening by stans and the amonia content, ate its way around the valve opening and made it the size of a 20c peice.

I have, on Larsen TTs and Crossmarks.

So far, my Conti Mountain Kings on the 26er and Conti Race Kings on the 29er seem to be ok (although I have a knack of replacing the 29er tyres quite regularly from side wall cuts!)

That whole Stans Ammonia story is utter crap - made up by the Kenda/maxxis (cant remember which) people so they didn't have to warranty all their tires.

I have used stans in every spesh tire and maxxis tire I have ever owned and never had it delaminate.... only once on a crossmark - but not on the replacement one (hmmm wonder why)

the BS'O'Meter was dialled up full power on the ammonia story

you will probably find a hole in the casing - the fluid goes in there and eventually it's tickets...

more of a per case manufacture default - send it back to spesh - my money is on them sorting you out.

I have found that the Continental Mountain King, Hutchinson Python (New) and Vredestein Killer bee do not delaminate.

My Monorails had stans in for at least 18 months with no issue. Now have a Maxxi's Ignitor and a Kenda for about 6 months, early days I know, but no signs of trouble.

I agree with tarmac. I used stans on different tyres through the years and never heard of it.

Maybe you should get that tyre replaced by your LBS as Tarmac suggested?

My bike came with S-Works The Captain tyres - I went tubeless with Stans shortly after getting the back and ran those tyres for about a year. Replaced them due to normal wear and tear of the tread. Replaced them with non S-Works (cheaper) The Captain and Fast Trak LK. I've been running those for just under a year and haven't had a moments hassle (touch wood). I've done over 3,600 km's on my MTB - so it's not like the tyres don't get a good workout. ;)

Just put a nice thick tube in and put the Stans in the tube
