Cool link, just found out I can save about 300 grams by changing to Sram Red! And I don't have to sell my car to buy the group! haha

mmm... I will save the 300 if I just stop eating chocolate today.

Hang on, I think there is still one caramel bear in my draw still.

*looking*

Dam. Ate the whole family yesterday.

Bummer.

I have Sram Red BB30...what do I win?

I have had three red groups and there are variances in their parts weights...so you may get a "heavy " set of shifters...or a "light" RD

The kids assembling the parts probably dropped too much glue in some components :D

We are out riding our bikes, not weighing them! :P

Haha, yup with that extra weight - I guess all the extra training is essential! ;)

[in the rumbling voice of Darth Vader]

"Come over to the 'Red' side, Luke... Sram is your father."

:P

just yesterday i upgraded from campy record or SR. man o man, what a difference. the thing about campy is that it actually gets better with time. my record was much smoother than the SR.

the SR is only on my racing bike so it will probly shift better next year, but damn its worth the wait. haha.

With Campag we don't need to train as much and as hard :P

We Shimano types are like fixie mtb riders - we do it because we LIKE the pain ;)

We also eat stew, grow beards and don't shave our legs...

That's your recumbent parked outside, isn't it?

with the weight of frames and wheelsets these days, you dont need a light groupset!!! just some solid reliability!!! SHIMANO ALL THE WAY... 9 million bicycles in Beijing, i wonder how many are on Campy or Sram?

Shimano fan for 18 years now but I think they are becomming ugly. Hate the look of the new cranks and hate the dark grey and polished silver even more.

Also a shim fan.

So what was a pretty groupset for you then.

I thought that the 7900 crank looks better than the 7800......

Would you prefer more carbon?

Answer me this: Why then do 10x Ergopower levers rattle?

FWIW, mine don't, not after 7 years or so and several thousand kilometres.

I do remember the rattle that my 105 9 speed and a mate's Ultegra had.

I do not believe that any gruppo is significantly better than competitors' equivalents, so let's not see this as another Hub religious war.
