on the subject of open water, where in cape town are good places to swim?

I would hazard a guess and say, at the beach ?

Forget Emmerentia. Try the Linden public pool lanes 5+ theres a current at each end of the pool that would make swimming in the ocean or a river look like a walk in the park. chuck in me and a few mates to create some wave action and Bobs yr uncle . Hey and if you really want to see some floaters and ecoli try the kiddies splash pool outside

Damn, I was swimming in lane 6 on Wednesday evening

Anyone been swimming in Emmerentia lately?

What is the water quality like?

I haven't seen any more reports from the canoe club.

Went swimming there this morning....all good although a bit murky (always like that in summer)
FYI, I have swum there for 5 years now, every year, never got sick. Not the cleanest but very convenient.

I paddle there, but there have been plenty of guys swimming consistently for the last few weeks, water is warm and looking ok at the moment, had friends training for xterra and they seemed ok. Just stay within the buoys to avoid catching a paddle to the head and avoid thursday night timetrials(you will not enjoy that swim)
