Unfortunate Experience

RTG7

Recommended Posts

I've bought a lot of stuff from Joey and never had a problem with him. Just wish the other Capetonian's were like him.

These things happen, just move on and continue looking for another saddle.

Besides everybody knows that Sella Italia SLR is the way to go ;) ;)

I have bought from Joey before and agree he was a good guy... BUT, I can see the OP's point here and I would be seriously p%*&ed if that happened to me. If both people commit to meeting up then you need to live up to that and don't mess each other around (as Meis said, what Joey did is identical to what the other guy did to him). I am still sitting with a light in my car which someone told me last week they were going to pick up sometime (I have had at least 10 other requests since then for it and turned them all away). I'm losing out on a sale, but I made a commitment so I will stick to it.

If you phone a shop and ask them to set something aside for you and then they call you an hour later and say "sorry, someone else wanted it and had cash", you would probably start a post identical to this about your shocking LBS. This isn't any different... It's about a bad experience someone had.

Basically, apologise for messing him around and everyone can get on with life!

hey guys, keep this civil ...... no insults needed by anyone

I have a problem with this though....

Pray tell me where are the insults here in this thread dude ? 'Cause if you are getting edgy with this post i suggest you go and mod posts/threads from known insult mongers like BigH et al.

Yes, you are a mod but comments like this and the Big Brother KGB approach is just plain not on.

I think that is bad form, bad manners and downright rude but ja we don't all have the same level of morals and idea of what's 'right' .... just saying .....

I've had nothing but good dealings with him but I concur that he should have had it on first come first serve deal.

just as a seller dont like to be stood up... so a buyer doesnt like it. It's a matter of integrity - some people have it, others dont.

Many years ago, as a child I watched Zimbabwe play rugby against Cardiff. Rob Halstead (the Zim tighthead), decked one of the Cardiff players on the head and the guy went down and was lying on the ground holding his head.

One of the spectators started to whistle that song "cry baby bunting" 30 years later, that tune is still stuck in my head.

I started it so I'll try to end it.

Tell me how to change the topic and i will - Unhappy Experience ( this is after all rant and Rave )

I hear all the positive for Joey and he obviously has a good name- unfortunately my experience was not the same.

I am over this, no hard feelings and withdraw any negative about Joey's character as I do not know him.

It happens so offen,I want it and will collect on friday but the other guy wants it right now.

What should we do ?

Lose the customer and run the risk that the other guy will drop you and get stuck with the item ?

I don't think so.

But If the buyer is a know hubber with a track record, thats a diffrent story.

First come first serve.

:o

Well done to both of you RTG7 and Joey100..... That takes a lot to be able to sort your "unfortunate" sale out

Now do yourselves a favour and jump to the other thread on this specific topic and nip that one in the bud as well, its beginning to get ugly over there

I think alot of people say they coming to pick it up and then find a better deal.

So when the other guy came to purchase it, he could have then phoned and asked RTG7 if he realy whats it as there is another person interested. He then could have seen if RTG7 was messing him around because if he was not that interested in it he would say no just let the other guy have it. If he then doesnt come pick it up then Joey can have a rant and rave about him not fetching things. (then you can come full circle)
