The Dimension Data rider leads over the top of the climb. He's done most of the work to be fair. Amador is losing more time down the mountain though, it's almost 45 seconds to Nibali and Co.

Fuglsang group catch Amador who has lost 50 seconds on his rivals as Scarponi keeps the pace high. They hit the summit of the climb, 4"00 down on the stage leaders.

No help from Fuglsang and company for Amador, who is forced to do all the work, as you would expect. He's about a minute down at the top. He might be able to make contact before the final climb.

I guess he's about 67 kgs

Thanks to power meters, we can have a better idea of just how hard it is to ride into the breakaway. Here is a sampling of data from Dombrowski’s ride on Friday:

Average power: 286 watts

Normalized power: 335 watts

Max power: 1057 watts

Max speed: 93kph

Time racing: 4 hours and 36 minutes

5 minutes at peak power: 448 watts

20 minutes: 411 watts

30 minutes: 395 watts

To bridge across to break: 10 minutes at 430 watts

Tough Giro for the team as it became obvious that Uran's crash limited his chances out there

Hombre's podíum finish in Stage 20 was a highlight
