Just a word of warning, recently ordered from Chain Reaction Cycles...

What a nightmare!!!

1st: Charged for transport (Ordered more than the R3000.00 / qualifying for Free Shipment as advertised on their site)

2nd: DHL costs and CRC costs do not compare / marry as invoiced.

3rd: No response to emails requesting answers from CRC.

4th: Goods have been in Bondage, in SA since the 28th Jan 2011.

5th: Upon given up as I need the items, have waited almost 2 weeks having given DHL authorisation to release and deliver

Lesson Learn't :( :o

if you asked for UPS/DHL you will have been charged EXTRA. Parcelforce is the free shipping option if you spend 250 pounds.

Bondage? usually they have to be cleared at customs. depending on the order you may need a clearing agent, usually UPS/DHL do this, and then deliver to you.

Usually using Parcelforce EMS we contact the mail sorting centre to get the SA tracking number and then we can go there to collect it if we do not want to wait the extra few days for it to get to our postal address.

You will have to pay customs duties if applicable and VAT, and a R25 clearance fee too.

Next time use the Parcel force option, it takes 4 days to get to SA, and then our fantastic postal system can drag out the actual delivery for 2 weeks.

You sound like the unluckiest person alive! Either that or you are a local agent or LBS creating k*k.

Otherwise you are a bored Hubber looking for an entertaining thread on a Friday afternoon, Newbie.

This was the second order with CRC.

Stick to the states sites, arrive on time and NEVER have had any such issues! Order all the time.

Mountain biking and all Enduro parts and kit.....

Fact that no reply after sales service ! Shame!

I have had over 20 parcels from CRC, a without problem. (The biggest problem was a missing skewyer - replaced immediateley without question or charge)

The last three arrived over the course of this week, all within 7 days of their dispatch.

The dispatch was within one day of placing the order.

I use Parcelforce not DHL. The free shipping only applies to Parcelforce.

Never had a problem with correspondence, I did notice that emails or replies from them were usually in the late afternnon/evening.
