Hi guys-just a quicky.  Don't know what your feeling are on the topic but thats why I'm posting.

Can anyone give me one good reason why we must join PPA, pay to ride league, join a club and get licenced?

Why can't one body do it all?  Why pay 50 places when one can do the job!  Surely a body like WPCA can come together and say they are the ruling body here and we all join them.

I understand that you must be part of a club to get licenced but why must I be part of PPA too?  What are they offering me?  Races?  No because in actual fact the rule is that clubs should host 2 races a year!

I just feel that maybe PPA should just be involved in the ARGUS and nothing else or they should become a club and compete on that level for members.

What do you guys think?

kempo, I have to agree to some point. Have you seen how many places we have to belong to an pay to ride Mtb these days!?!?! it's getting a bit much..

its nice to see some guys agreeing. look i'm not knocking ppa but if gauteng can get by and be so organised without their ppa anymore then surely we can too...

I think PPA should become event hosters, and offer to host the events for the clubs, as many clubs are unable/unwilling to host the required rides.

This way, there is no need to belong to PPA to do the races, as club membership and WPCA/CSA affiliation should be enough.

I suppose the ultimate solution would see WPCA and PPA become one, but I don't know if that is ever going to happen.

I agree with Kempo basically PPA are making money for nothing and well done to them but if clubs host races then just rock up, pay and race and screw joining the PPA.

For next year WPCA and the clubs that fall under them are going to be hosting 2 races each.  1 rode and 1 track event.  these aren't ppa races-they are WPCA races.  THis is a great thing in my opinion.

Kempo, that wll be great.

It will "force" a split between the funride side and league ride side.

Maybe WPCA and the Boland Union must get together and try manage it as one. Seeing that all the guys are from boland and wp who ride league.

I just hope the WPCA can get a nice sponser helping then to "start-up" this and get the "league racing" out of the funride orginization.

Good luck. The clubs must just stand together in the first year, helping each other out and than after its a established racing league, do it like road running.

Maruis, you cannot have a seeding in racing. You enter as a "CSA RACER" rider, show your licence and ride.

Maybe then the Clubs can get the National seeding ladder people and get those races on it.

but till then, If you have a CSA licence to race, they should not afterwards decide you are not good enough.

The CSA who issue licences should have a criteria, if they want.popeye2007-11-06 06:18:16

it seems you're reinventing the wheel Wink

it's been the situation for quite a number of years, its only been outsourched for the last few years.

A few clubs normally join forces to host an event when you put your resources together you can put on a much bigger event.  The same goes for track events.
