You know what the rules are with regards to usinmg timing chips - Not to use both at the same time on your bike: use them with their bike mountings to make sure you get timed; If on a tandem, use one in from and one at the back - to me the rules are simple, just stick to them and you will have your official time.

I still like ChampionChip as the results were out on the WEB very early yesterday, well done ChampionChip!!

To add:

My first race was a championchip race and I rather enjoy the race summary they give per rider when your results are made available. I must say Championchip detail is more user friendly and usable then Racetech race summaries.

Hijack off!!

"Hi Indy, I was one of the guys who came down some chop on my right on a blue Bianchi decided to cut left , hit the guy just infront of me on my left , caught a wobble and went down , I had no where to go , really angry as I pulled the bunch a fair amount of the way :)No major injuries or damage , just a lekka roastie and a few cosmetic scratches"

I also got taken out in that BL Sprint the guy that went down on the right rolled in front of me,so I went down and some chick rode over me!I was on the white Bianchi with the Yellow Bianchi shirt that now has A hole in it  Well done to Indigo and Wrigs

It will be useful if ChampionChip sells their bike mounts as a package with the chips like RaceTec does otherwise no complaints.

We got a mount with the championchip we bought for this race. Was included, both for R100, so I think it is included these days.

The draw was made after the main prize giving (12:00). Anyone that had placed the tear-off portion of their race number in the box was eligible. If the whole number was placed in the box it was excluded from winning.

I can see you frustration at being excluded from the draw if you were still on the route. Something to ponder on for 2012.

The guys that need that equipment are the guys out there while you guys were sipping champagne at the finishing ceremony discussing what to do with your 'extra' new race bike. How Elitist! tsk tsk :P

Seriously I know you cant have everyone waiting around for the last guys to finish to do a draw but you cant exclude us because we are not super fast either. If we entered and payed, we should all have had a fair shot at the bike

You would have found me at the start/finish area from 04:00 until about 13:30 and packing up from 13:30 until 16:00.

But you raise a valid point and it has already been brought to the attention of the head organiser.

Very sad that only a few races use CC, I quite like the sort by option by club so I can see a direct comparison with my team mates

Thanks Jon, I am sure you would have been right in there if you hadnt been "held up" - hope you heal up quickly and get your bike spotless again soon.

What start group are you in?

The average speed of the main bunch for the following groups are shown below:

AL (40.7 - 2:30)

BL (38.5 - 2:40)

CL (36.7 - 2:48)

DL (36.0 - 2:51)

EL (35.5 - 2:54)

The distance this time is only 103Km, so to do a 2:45 you have to average 37.5km/h

Possible if you ride in a bunch at that speed, highly unlikely if you're on your own.

Good luck

Hi Frosty

Thanks for the reply, I started in EL and made my sub-3 easily with almost 15 mins....

What an awesome race, well organised, marshals were good, great route, had a breakaway at the end which actually worked, nice head wind at the end ;) etc. GREAT STUFF AND WE'LL BE BACK NEXT YEAR!
