  2. And why not , you expect them to get a license !!!
  3. For sure , it you ride on the road . Bicycles really damage the roads and should also pay !! They should also get e-tags .
  4. The second best decision you will ever make is to get rid of all that crap at the back as well .
  5. I encounter lots of runners , pedestrians on my MTB route around Pretoria . For some reason runners and walkers find the the pavemunt is also the safest place to be . Most of them walk with earphones plugged into phones so the bell I had did not really get their attention . Got another bell recently with a higher pitch and it seems to work a lot better . Also make sure the bell you get does not make a moewiese racket when you hit the bumpy downhills cause that is just irritating .
  6. Or like roadies would say A false flat .
  7. These pigs does not stop there , they will rob you after a accident while you pinned in your car or lying next to the road and if they missed something the police/traffic cops will steal the rest .
  8. Seriaaas ! These hubbers gonna pull you apart for posting such non-sense as your first post .
  9. It is a real problem . Use to be in the tow-truck industry and there are not such thing as a Low-key fender-bender accident . A Tow is a tow and if you not first on the scene then you don't get the tow , the money and the car . The system is a total stuff up . What should happen is that calls to an accident should be assigned to a operator by an independent body . Only operators that's registered with the body will be used . Now I know this works in other countries , but here in this place it will turn into another pit of corruption !!
  10. Especially that bunch that does the Spruit . Mind you I see a lot of girls also ride around Thaba trails these days .
  11. So I started gathering info . stumbled onto this website : http://www.orienteering.co.za/event-calendar/mountain-bike-orienteering/
  12. Serious are we not suppose to do little drops like that with a rigid carbon fork ?
  13. While we waiting for updates might as well keep it alive !
  14. Now this is a bit rude !!!
  15. They mention excessive use of alcohol in the rules , I am sure nobody would be to upset if you replace your morning coffee with a OB ?? making coffee waste a lot of time
  16. But that is Glenn !! SS would definitely be the preferred mode of transport but I will definitely put a suspension fork on . Any comments on using touring type bags ? That stuff you put on the back .
  17. If I do decide to first try the R2R first then I would rather do the one that was finished last week . Surely you would want to see what conditions are like preparing for the challenge ?
  18. I read this document and get the feeling that you will be able to navigate by using this . But maybe we will get more feedback from the people who are using those directions this year .
  19. Thug will be able to comment on my navigational skills . I always gets lost at AR races . Been reading a lot of blogs the last few weeks and yes prep seems to be a very big part of the race but lots of info from previous riders
  20. No man !! If it was easy what fun would it be ? Every morning I open the live tracking and I get depressed !! I should be there , this race is calling my name .
  21. Ok so reading some of the latest comments this is not a race for the weekend warrior ?
  22. Duct tape for sure . A L-shape piece of metal/hard plastic will work with the tape if it's taped at the bottom of the toptube and down the downtube .
  23. And I got one lying in my bike room .
