1. Ok, I planned a professional bikefit like Ergofit somewhere in the near future. I think I should move that fit much more to the present to make sure?? .....And to sort out the niggles
2. Yes I am going to call the shop tomorrow.
3. GT Zaskar Elite 9ner Medium .........and not a Large I used to ride a 2006 Giant Yukon and at this stage I think it might be better for me. I really struggled Saturday. In all honesty not ONLY because of the bike size ......But it played a major roll
4. And in my case. Will it help to buy a longer stem? As my top tube is only 55cm
5. I am 183cm with leg 88 and my bike size is a Large
6. I just bought a bike and although I asked for a Large, the owner recommended a Medium reason being that it is a 29ner. I did the 50miler on the bike , but from a bout 50 km my shoulders and arms were absolutely killing me. This I did not bother me on the two trail rides (20km each) . That bike is covered in mud and I sit with a bike that is too small for me. My first real bike ...........and it is too small.

GT Bike Size?

So if you had to adjust the framesize? To a M or to XL? What bike was it?
9. If I am 1.83m (6") what size should I buy in a GT Frame? Edit : Sorry I did Google , but could not find a answer

13. Thanks. Thats why I race against myself. I just try to be better than the previous year.
14.
Today I did my first Dirtopia event. Were do I find the results and how long does it take to show?

Quite humbling doiing the 50miler and the first of the 100milers come flying past you while I am hanging on a tread to just make the finish. The wet terrain put a new perspective to the day.

15. One thing I have found that you cannot rate a race on elevation alone. More important to this is the terrain you are going to ride on. 5 km of soft sand or 5km of loose rocky terrain is totally different than 5km of well prepared gravel road or for that matter jeep track. Those climbes can be 800m of uphill or it can be 800m of battling against rocks, sand and everything else that can be bad. .................... Never judge a race by elevation alone...... Not a MTB one at least!

Smelly Kit

Definitely works like a charm! But not when it is dried by the Tumble drier.
17. Probably a stupid question but may I ask what do you mean with that comment ?
18. Are these bikes put through all the quality tests? Is it properly tested before it is put on the market? I am more than willing to be a test rider. As I will never be able to afford one.
19. Very true
20. Thank You. This is a answer I can relate with, apply and learn from. Practical and to the point.
21. I actually tried that . Not as easy or as simple as it sounds. A real eye opener!
22. No I think it is a good thing you kept it. If you collect what is left in those two packets it might be enough for you next ride. edit spelling

DC Team

IDT can be fun - if you set it up right. But that is more work than the training itself. Fan, lekker and loud music........
24. How about the same concept for MTB tyres? Puncture proof and light
25. pad of berg
