  1. A while back Intense produced a small run of XSmall Spider VPP's. Aka_flipper's wife had one, they are trying to sell it... He's on this forum: aka_flipper
  2. Just out of interest, do you think riding a shova will make your fanny hurt less?
  3. With regard the kwela 29er, i ride one when my mates aren't watching, its a nice bike; got mine the other day from rushsportscycling.com. Andre (morewoodKid?) also sorted me out with some trick parts.
  4. Gydo pass near Ceres is epic.
  5. get a smaller gilfriend
  6. I've used this tensioner no problem. RodTi go and buy yourself some good loctite, that should solve the problem of the item coming loose. Also check out your chainline theres obviously something very wrong if your tensioner is under pressure, there should be no heavy pressure there, something else is fishy. All on all with the need for a new skewer, this tensioner coming free something is very, very fishy.
  7. You want the FD-M771 High clamp All the others clamp low, which will get in the way of the truth's suspension setup. Don't worry about size, the XT come with a bunch of spacers.
  8. I have 2 for sale in the Classifieds section under "cyclocross/tandem forks", the problem you'll have with a fork like this is tyre clearance.
  9. Best bet is to buy a bash ring, that way you don't need the short bolts and when you need the large chainring back its a 2 minute operation. The bash ring just replaces your outer ring.
  10. All I want for christmas is a cyclelab outfit so I too can ride 5 abreast.
  11. Hey, I noticed you guys doing trail work. Thanks a million, I for one really appreciate it.
  12. Give them a chance, they've just worked out what a World Cup is, someone there is trying to work out what a World Championship is, they've given him 6 months and a R100 000 budget.
  13. So hows this, in 2011, the year of the 29er, 5 years into the fad. The overall Downhill World Cup will be won on a 26er, the Downhill World Champs will be won on a 26er. The overall XC World Cup will be won on a 26er, Chances are the World Champs too. And u know what, next week is the World Marathon Champs, where I'm told 29ers are the bomb. But you know what, I hear Julien Absalon is going, so they will be won on a 26er too. I cant wait to see how he throws down those 360 life/Specialized boys, its gonna be hilarious. Kina tells u sommin, no?
  14. So im changin a wheel at minnaars pre the 2010 Sani, Peaty and Gregg are there, Im wondering why he's stripping his top of the range tallboy (29er) and putting the parts on a LTC(26er)? In Gregg's own words "it doesn't go up hills". Kina tells you something about a bike half of joees rides. Perhaps they just love them cos they're free?
  15. Everyone's hoping you announce a 29er!
  16. The horror stories are because mavic didn't used to have a good importer. Recently Dragons took over and you can get spares no problem. Also if you talk to your local bike shop very nicely and quote the CRC price you'll get your wheels cheaper. If you bike shop don't know what you're talking 'bout change shops, if they cant match CRC, change shops. One more thing, if you're buying MTB wheels, don't. Mavic have yet to update that stupid bushing on the freewheel that goes all the time if you're riding in messy stuff, and we wont mention how flexy the wheels are either.
  17. yes,yes,4 days, yes (VAT and minor clearance unless you have clothing in the package)
  18. Yes, but its not a critical failure. Basically in the stand the rotors are fine but as soon as they warm up a bit the theres about 2mm movement in the rotor between the floating bit and the steel rotor. I've carried on using the rotor without any severe problems, I probably shouldn't but it matches my wheels.
  19. Till the rivets come loose?
  20. Yes, any decent wheel builder will swap those OEM specialized hubs/spokes for Industry Nines
  21. This whole 180 front and 160 back really irks me, I've suffered from a lot of brake fade over the years, funny thing is its ALWAYS the back that fades first, 180 front 160 back looks cooler thou. With regards bending 180 rotors you need to be very careful which rotors you get, those cheap light jobs always bend even if you don't bash them. One other thing to bear in mind is that rotors also wear out, especially the thin XC ones, i've often remedied my fade by just throwing on new rotors.
  22. Have a look at this prototype: Specialized Epic Protoype http://www.bikerumor.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/05/2012-Specialized-Epic-29er-mountain-bike-prototype01-600x451.jpg Specialized themselves are using Industry Nine wheels, I just bought some too, not only are they unbelievably light, sound cool but they also engage instantly which makes really technical climbing a dream.
  23. I went looking for some brake pads and came away with some new wheels, which arrived at my door the next day. Pretty rad...
  24. Please go and lay a charge against this guy ASAP! He admits to being in possession of stolen goods, that's all you need. I bet he has previous convictions and a magistrate will laugh at his excuses.
