  1. Does anyone know when the above event is being screened on SuperSport
  2. I hear that one of the cyclist's in PE is going to hire a private detective to find these barbarians. We can only hope they are caught and thrown in jail for a very very long time
  3. Are we going over Chappies this year after the storm late last year ie all the damage
  4. I am looking to watch and maybe cycle bits of the last 10 days or so of this years TDF.Is anyone aware of any tours and if so,what are the contact details or site I can look up. Any suggestions/advice would be hugely appreciated.
  5. We were there, what an amazing achievement for a very brave athlete
  6. It changes the cycle quite significantly, particularly the Lake farm climb.Do not under estimate the climb along Kragga Kamma road to Cows corner either. The Maitlands climb is also quite tough. It is difficult to say what it will add to the time as it also now has some fast descents. At a guess for an average cyclist I would say 30-40 minutes
  7. I know John-Lee and he had told me a couple of months back that he had had complications after his op and would probably never do multi day races again- the pain gets too severe. I really hope he is now over the worst and it all works out for him.It is possible that he only does the "shorter" races.
  8. Jacques is probably the best in Knysna to help you (as per above reply).Harkerville has some fantastic trails just outside of Knysna.Enjoy
  9. I am looking to buy new tubless tyres for my 29er and needing some advice please.I am a very average cyclist but I do the likes of the Knysna Oyster,The Addo etc. Due to back problems, I try and avoid the real technical rides/races but do enjoy single track and marathon type riding.I also do some riding on tar roads,so I guess I'm looking for a good all round tyre that has good grip for the rougher stuff. Any comments/suggestions please.
  10. Have a great tomorrow to all the mtb'ers. Better cold than the 45 degree temps we had 2 years back. Enjoy the first climb of 14km's.... Ha ha
  11. We have also entered and watched a UTube video of the trail, it does not look like a walk in the park. Some of the sections look very technical. and there a few tough climbs. Distances aren't too long so should be a good 2 days of riding.
  12. I bought my full Merida kit from Kevin Evans shop in Plett.
  13. Even though the wind was howling I hear it was largely behind the riders, the times therefore are pretty decent. well done to everyone that completed it. I might see you there next year
  14. Absolutely brilliant Ashleigh
  15. I would seriously consider a Fizik Gobi..... everyone I know that has one, loves it.
  16. Looks pretty interesting to me
  17. What Tyler did was very wrong and he has admitted this and apologised for it.You don't have to forgive him but you might learn from him by attending this ie don't make his mistakes.I wish I was in Joburg as I would attend.
  18. A fantastic race, well organised with a great goodie bag etc.I will be back in 2014 for sure.
  19. A friend and I have entered, should be a great ride but not too sure about the profile shown
  20. My wife and my bikes are all covered with them at a very competitive rate.My wife crashed 2 months ago ending up with R12500 damage to her bike, they paid out in 3 days.
  21. I bought a Brookes saddle almost a year ago and have been very happy with it.Unfortunately in the last month it has started squeaking rather badly.I do use proofide on it but does not help. If anyone has a suggestion, please feel free to comment.
  22. Very sad news, condolences to Keith & all his family. We will miss him on the bike
  23. You probably won't have as many water crossings this year but it does get very cold,so be prepared
  24. A friend and I are looking to do a ride somewhere in and around Knysna tomorrow morning. We are not racing snakes and just want a pleasant fun mtb ride.I am doing the 50km Oyster festival ride in a few weeks, so a "part" of that would be great. Is anyone riding tomorrow that we could join in,ensuring it is a slowbee ride lol
  25. I have a few subscriptions but quite honestly I still like the real deal.I also have a Kindle but only buy books that I don't mind not having a hardcopy for my library. It is cheaper of course to go the paperless route.
