  1. So then, which is the right dual sus bike then, TitusTi?
  2. Bored-girl does this mean you're getting rid of the flat peddals and takkie combo? You know that will make walking across the spruit harder, right?
  3. Dude, get yourself a mountainbike, awesome trails in the area, check out Harkerville! If you dont own one yet maybe findout if you can rent one from Cycle Works or action cycles
  4. Was at Logwood on Sunday and Jeff mentioned that this coming Sunday Mugg and Bean is renting out the place and allowing free access to everyone from 9AM. Apparently all sorts of events and goings on. Anybody going to be there? Unrelated question, anyone know of any MTB groups in Joburg that ride on a Saturday?... don't want to have a day of the weekend go by without a little bit of muddy fun
  5. Insightful post above Fatcyclist. Damnitt, now it looks asif my girlfriend was right when she told me I have issues around exercise. Now I'm depressed... where's my bike....
  6. I definitely agree Token. I was off my bike for only 2 weeks after a fall at Highland Gate Mtb, and that was torture. Dont think I'd survive 4 months!
  7. That's true Mud Dee, also their profit is directly linked to how many trips they make make during the rush hour, so they are incentivised to try and push in front and drive like maniacs. I think I would also be bad tempered if I had to sit in a car all day aswell!! Still, I don't think its excusable to be an as*h*l* on the road.
  8. Of course sex matter, Michelle, but thats a topic for another thread, see https://www.bikehub.co.za/forum_posts.asp?TID=8473
  9. How bout: Hubber most likely to end up in prison for assaulting a motorist?
  10. She was probably black and blue by the time the cyclist and his 5 buddies had pepper sprayed her and taught her a "little lesson" in road etiquette
  11. Not really going to keep the rear wheel down over the rough stuff like a rear shock would. Means less traction on bumpy uphills, but a more comfortable bum!
  12. My old bike, don't have any of new bike (also Giant) coz I don't believe in pornography
  13. You know what they say, "its not about the bike"...
  14. Popeye, Hayes Disks are designed to be self-aligning. You may find that taking the wheels off and putting new pads in has changed the alignment between the caliper and the rotor. Try loosening the two hex-bolts holding the caliper to the frame, spin the wheel and then slowly apply brake pressure, this will align the caliper and the rotor. Release the brake and tighten the bolts (carefully, so as not to shift their position), u may need to do this a few times to fine tune the brakes. You can also visually check the alignment by looking through the gap in the caliper where you can see the rotor. Spin the wheel and check if the rotor is touching one side (left or right) of the pads, this can be fixed by following procedure above. If the rotor is touching both pads, the pads haven't opened enough (you may have accidently squeezed the brakes when the wheel was out), you either need to force them open further (there should be a plastic spacer that came with the brakes/bike) or bleed the brakes. Hope this helps, I've had so much S*$## from my Hayes 9's, I've had to become a bit of an expert... next time definitely going for something like Avid Juicy's!
  15. Well sometimes a comment is so insightfull u have to make it about 6 or 7 times Dont really know what happened there
