  1. It's pretty basic, measured the space I had for a bench, googled some design ideas..... Sure it's clean, or was...... that picture was taken a few minutes after completion.
  2. There is quite some talent posted here, good work boys! I went to buy a work bench & did not like the price, so decided to build my own.
  3. Nice, very nice.....you don't see them that good a condition anymore.
  4. Friday only comes around once a week....
  5. Absolutely, unicorns have been around for ages....
  6. That looks a pretty awesome trip.....my next trip will be something similar, so thanks for sharing.... A couple of mates & I did a 2 day Lesotho trip the weekend before last, well, in fact a 4 day trip, but only 2 through Lesotho. Coming from Durban, did a scenic route to Underberg, then up Sani Pass....St Theresa's....Sehonghong......Motobeng (overnight at Bob Phillips camp)......Sehlabathebe National Park (also an overnight camp).........Ramatilitso border gate.....Matat......swartberg & back to Underberg before return to Durban. The beauty of Lesotho was on full display for us & the weather good.....this route in the wet would be a nightmare. As it is the +/- 25 km's from Bob Phillips to Sehlabathebe took just over 3 hours on the GS!
  7. I'm not so sure. Two reasons, they will likely take some abuse & look tacky if not 'cleaned' up quickly, also matching the colour over time could be tricky & expensive. Secondly, that colour stands out, so, should you spray them black they won't seem that obvious. Regardless, that bike will look cool!
  8. Standard one have worked fine for me, just take the rubber inserts out as they are slippery when wet, especially when standing for long periods.
  9. Looking for posts that will make us smile, make us proud, or simply make us feel good about being alive. These can be of a personal, local, national or international nature. I'll start: Today's news of SA's Dimension Data receiving a World Tour licence!

What a dice between Rossi & MM! Pity it ended as it did....hopefully the title isn't decided by today's event.
  12. I have to agree, it's a lot of fun. It cruises quite comfortably on the free-way & is pretty amazing off road. As an all rounder, it's hard to beat.
  13. Still on the no sugar, no bread programme for September, so a boiled egg & greek salad without dressing it is for me! Oddly I don't even use salt or pepper & the taste is just fine, too weird...
  14. Probably not a Kukri, as they are from Nepal & were used to, ah-hem,'snuff' the enemy and an unfortunate food source. Tobacco pouches not exactly a requisite. But...post a pic, I'm keen to check it out.
  15. Picked up this Kukri recently. Does anyone else have one?
  16. Agreed, one would probably not buy a GS as an "off road" ride, however being an "adventure" bike, you will be surprised by it's off road capability - plenty youtube vids to back this up. Plus it's a pretty comfortable long distance road cruiser. My GS goes most places the 2 strokes go in the Inanda valley in Kzn!
  17. Prison time in SA can't be fun! And if vehicle drivers out there get to understand they will go to prison if they kill a cyclist, i'm hoping driving attitudes will change!
  18. Ja, adventure biking does eat into bicycle time, don't cut back too much as the fitness helps the hours negotiating technical dirt road riding.
  19. For the adventurers, just did a ride from Durban through the Karoo, West Coast, Baviaans & Rhodes. This pic taken at Paternoster.
