  1. I have worn the green and gold at Vets Worlds, and believe me, it is still an honor!! the way the other countries look at you and wonder and it does leave a lump in your heart. you end up racing harder than ever before without thinking of any fear. its truly what it is all about. thats why i am peeved off about it. it should be a system whereby they take various races into account, and also various types of races. it used to be like that a couple of years ago, whereby they included flat, hilly, tt's etc.!! it pisses me off that the csa have no be-littled it to such a state!!!
  2. worlds should be an honour, it should be open and everybody should be in agreement. yet again the CSA / SACf has let us down!!!! WOULD THE PEOPLE WHO ARE SELECTORS PLEASE HAVE THE BALLS AND STAND UP AND ANNOUNCE YOURSELVES!!!
  3. unless i missed it, can someone please let everyone know who the selectors where?
  4. call bikemaxpower in ct or go to the guys that fitted it for you. it shouldnt do that as far as i know

Dont know if its on any of the previous listings or thread. the memorial ride is planned for Tuesday at 2pm, leaving from Finishline Cycles and the Funeral is at the Maranatha Church, Kemptonpark.. Just wanted to add a couple of other comments to those who didnt know Ryan. He was always willing to help, never had a big head and was always the one pro who had time for even little people, people that just started cycling, etc. He always had time for others; just as an example, while training VERY hard for Tour de Langkawi he was asked to take a new junior cyclist for a ride, " no problem, tell him to meet me at Finishline in an hour" was the immediate response. No hesitation!! If there ever was one SA rider i looked up to from the day i started cycling, it was Ryan. He never, ever had a big head. He always gave back!!! If you know his mom, Karen, you can see where he gets his attitude towards life from. they ARE both excellent people who are always willing to help. My only regret with regards to Ryan is that i never got a chance to really thank him for ALL the help he gave me in the past. RYAN, YOU WILL BE MISSED MORE THAN YOU COULD EVER IMAGINE!! OUR HEARTS ARE WITH YOU AND YOUR FAMILY!!! I DONT THINK YOU EVER KNEW HOW MANY PEOPLE REALLY LOOKED UP TO YOU!! CHEERS TO YOU!!!
  8. Hiya Brucy, any chance you can get us all a copy of Fabian C's prologue stats?? that mustve been the most awesome prologue i have ever seen!! F#@$##@$CK - damn!!!
  9. I think if I said "I TOLD YOU SO!!" you'd be smiling right about now!! remember all the things we said about this tour a cpl of weeks ago. "organization, prizegiving, etc...etc.....etc....."
  10. i think you guys are forgetting one important fact! Motorists in south africa dont give a sh*t about cyclists. even if there was a scheme like this (which would be great), it still wont change the fact that cyclists seem to be a hated species and if more are on the road during peak time, there would just be more deaths. Its the old song, all over again, mutual respect....... but unfortunatly it doesnt seem to work. on 99% of the time we ride single file, but still get motorists side-swiping us and knocking us off our bikes. I wish i was wrong, but it seems the law has failed cyclists seems .................
  11. My 5cents worth - longest i usually stay on rollers is for 4 hours, but I never like doing more than 3 hours at a time.
  12. Bruce is a teammate of ours and he also swears by it. I dont know Snapshot, so I cant vouch for her or her product as I havent used it, but I have been using Bruce's BodyScience pants for a number of months now, and it worked great. That was the only reason. Not implying anny offence or anything to that effect.
  13. Contact Bruce - he is the importer and distributer of a similiar make (BodyScience). It works wonders. Our whole team uses it.
  14. TO MWNN Great fotos. Thanks a bunch!!

Yup, Psycho's got it right. DavidL and Dave Garret rode an excellent race. If there was one guy i wouldnt have minded to loose to it would have been DavidL. Always willing to share in the work and a great guy!! Dont know Dave G that well, all I knew going into the last lap is that I heard he was an excellent sprinter and therefore had my work cut out for me.Marco2007-06-04 03:36:36

Bloem was excellent!! The Bulkpack team had some good reasults. Craig won the TT in an awe-inspiring time and really rode his heart out to obtain that GOLD. I was watching him from the car and believe me. He deserved every ounce of that medal. On the way out he had a bit of a tailwind, but coming back the headwind really picked up, but the tougher the conditions, the better for him!! In the road race we also won GOLD and Craig came in 4th. The breakeway started early after the 2nd lap and managed to get up to 6min on the chasing bunch at the last time check. Unfortunaly things didnt quite work out when Craig got dropped on the start of the last lap, so we/I kinda had to throw the game plan out the window and think of something else to do. In the end it all worked out great!! ALL my congrats go to Cycling SA and the Bloem cycling fraternity. They put on what must have been one of the best SA's I have attended thus far. Roads where excellently manned, marshalled and attended to, which must have been difficult taking into account the area, both resedential and business. It will be an SA's well worth remembering. Thanks again all.
  21. And to think..........we took it easy up suikerbosrand that day!! (team orders where to take it easy so more people can go with) At this stage I agree, training with watts has advantages, but up to now I have never trained with it, although I did have a powertap but sold it cause I never used it. bought an ergomo cause it looks nice and brings out the color of my eyes!!
  22. you guys are all full of bs - i've been taking it very easy this december! not likely that I'll have good stats. anyway, i bought the ergomo cause it looks nice on the bike, and so that I can give my bike to 101% after he breaks his generating to much power in the next tour. the whole team is riding for him this year as he is flying!!!
  23. think mine's about 50. also with a polar, but when I ride next to 101%, then it goes mad - like a deamon - but that's usually if you try and ride next to him only. he is like a mad dog lately - wants to #$$#$#@$#@ up everyone - think he is seriously ready to race!!!
  24. Hey Windbreaker, I bet you this ass is sitting back and loving every minute of the smell of the sh*t he has stirred. To asses like him, there is no such thing as bad publicity! Perhaps a group of cyclists passed him a couple of weeks ago and didnt even notice the "wannabe-famous" person next to them. This is perhaps the real reason? Before this whole episode, i, for one, didnt know him or the fact that he appeared on idols as a guest/judge? didnt care. I would love to get this Maas character on a bike on a saturday morning and let him ride alone one day AND as part of a group to see what cyclists go through the other. I think what people also tend to forget is that sometimes cyclists dont mean to ride in the middle of the lane, but that circumstances dictate that they do so. I am sure there is not one person on this forum who hasnt as yet not had a puncture or blow-out due to broken beer bottles in the road, or even had a wheel broken due to crap road conditions!! One further point I wanted to make on Johan & Maas' column is that he points to cyclists obviously being arrogant and money making us so. I bet if there is a poll put on the site to ask the question as to how many people know what the next guy they have been cycling with earns or really his position in a company, that most guys wont know, cause status and money are not things most cyclists care about when your on the bike. You earn respect in other ways while cycling, not by the car you might be driving or the fact that you own a couple of expensive suites. Nobody knows, nobody cares. All are out to swap stories about the week's training and the last big hill they climbed!!! So much for arrogant, rich cyclists assumptions!! BUT, whats the saying - ASSUMPTION, the mother of all %%-ups!!
