  1. @Nick & @Matt I'm on a search to find events to plan for for the year. As I can't seem to find a consolidated site that lists ALL/Most cycling races I though why not have a look at thehub, its should have most of the more popular events listed. And here is where I picked up an issue, it will only show upcoming events, this is all good and well, but as we know these generally only get added closer to the time the event will happen, it wont allow me to look for events that happened in the past, say 2022.
  2. What Steady said. Good sports sox are not just about the graphic, but also the design and materials used. The likes of Versus etc. have done research into this (at least thats what they make you believe). However if you're just selling socks with cool graphics and not pitching them at the sporting world then its a different ball game.
  3. Just tow a small generator behind you
  4. Komoot is free and pretty easy to use. If your head unit allows it you can download the route to it
  5. Actually if you think about it it does happen more with bikes than cars. Pedals, Cranks, groupsets, brakes etc.
  6. If its anything like the motor industry the Parent company decides they want to pitch their product at xyz segment, therefore it needs to be priced accordingly. They then sell it to the local importers accordingly priced and dictate to the importers what segment their product needs to be pitched at. The importers then need to sell it on to the retailers at a certain price point. They have paid a premium for the product, so they need to recover this cost and still make a little bit to keep the doors open. So now the retailers have bought for x amount and need to sell at minimum x, but preferable x + y% in order to make some money to keep the doors open. Will we see new bike prices coming down ? I doubt it. At best we will see prices frozen and perhaps some favourable discounts to move standing stock. You would not be happy if you just bought a top of the range bike for 270k and 6 months later its now selling brand new for 240k before discount.
  7. Also got my final ride in this morning. Was great to be out, even though there was a drizzle and I cut it short because I wasn’t feeling 100%. Not the numbers I was aiming for, but still a good year. Had the most fun I’ve ever had at CTCT, finally got to do a 100 mile ride. Even though I struggled at 947 I equaled my best time.
  8. I've been using Enduro seal. Currently only my front wheel is tubeless as I cannot afford to buy a new tyre for the rear, the current one has a slice in it that I cant get to stay sealed enough to keep it tubeless. I have not topped up the front since April. Picked up a puncture a couple of days ago, whilst it took a while to seal it did seal and has been holding so far. So whilst topping up every couple of months is recommended, its not always going to end in disaster.
  9. Just my normal route. But timed it perfectly to have awesome riding weather. A touch of light drizzle just as I left and then dry and windless the entire route. Also had a brief chat with a guy on a recumbent whilst waiting at a traffic light just before home. So glad I went out, it’s now pi$$ing with rain.
  10. I had thoughts of doing it, but ill health has seen me easing back into training instead of going all out. Usually December is my biggest month, this year its looking to be my least active month.
  11. what do you want to compare ?
  12. Left home with Garmin showing 20% battery life. Decided if it dies it dies, I’ll add the remainder in manually. about 8km in it went from 20% to 1%. stayed on 1% until km 45. 10km from home. What you see here is what it recorded. Also picked up a puncture on the front wheel early on. This one is still tubeless but I haven’t topped up in a while. Decided I’m going to ride until it’s flat and then sort it out. Was no need to, it took many km but it eventually sealed and I did not lose to much pressure.
  13. They say there are 2 types of riders, those that have fallen and those that are going to fall. Statistically I was due for a fall, if this was it I’ll take it. Stupid rookie mistake at a traffic light when I changed my mind and decided to stop. Did not unclip in time and went down. Small roastie on my knee and some superficial scratches on the bike and a brake lever that needed to be twisted back into place.
  14. Usual loop in reverse and a flat that took waaaayyyy to long to change the tube. I love my pirellis, but they are a PITA to get off the rim. Flat occurred in a dodgy area, I did a quick road side inflate and then put all my weight over the front wheel and made my way to a fuel station further down the road.
  15. mine does not have the adjuster knob. mine looks like this
  16. its possible that your calipers need that little bit extra travel that the system cannot give you. On my road bike full bite happens with the levers mere mm away from the bars, with worn pads the levers are touching the bars. I've never figured out how to get them to bite sooner (not that I've spent much time trying though)
  17. I am 90% sure Robert has 90% of the parts needed for 90% of the bikes out there. hehehehe You always seem to have the obscure part someone is looking for.
  18. You're not totally wrong, but there is another aspect to the higher theft risk. Toyota nad VW being the most popular cars means more people want them. More people wanting them means there is more chance of them being stolen.
  19. Its a PR stunt. Toyota are losing customers (not many admittedly) due to the high theft risk of their vehicles (we wont get into your stats argument, most people just believe the headlines in the news), in order to show they are aware of the problem and are trying to do something they needed to do this. Criminals will always find a away to get your vehicle anyway.
  20. This right here is the cause for probably 90% of peoples issues. Communicate with the customer and you'll find most people wont get upset.
  21. Almost 3 weeks off the bike due to illness(es). Great to be back, took it nice and easy.
