Fair enough. They might not be the only ones capable but from where I am sitting they are one of the only ones actually setting races up..

As I said in my earlier post I agree about the reserve funds and the need to use it for the good of cycling and not have it sit and gather dust. That said at the moment yes they are the only providers. Until someone else comes along with the will and the sponsorship we need to suck it up. I am not saying do not make legitimate complaints but slating them for something that is beyond there control is a wee bit harsh.

Agree about the reserve funds and the roadworks are not a secret so a contingency should of been made far in advance that said no contingency has been made and if motorists have been advised to use Ou Kaapse as a post above suggests then it does make sense not to use the road for a cycle race as much as that irritates. The PPA seem to be trying to make a plan and keep races on the calendar. I do not see anyone else trying to organize road races and if we shun the PPA and they stop organizing the races how many would be left on the calendar.

Not much the PPA can do about the roadworks. Or am I missing something?

Mmmm beyond the obvious there is not much more I can add. Try rebooting your PC if that does not work reinstall the communicator and finally to prove it is not the unit test it on a different PC.

Are you use the cord that comes with the unit to connect to the PC. i have heard of people having issues when not using a Garmin cord to connect.

I agree with that but everyone has a different moral compass. Whats wrong in my eyes is not necessarily wrong from someone else viewpoint. That is what makes life interesting and people irritating

The bigger question is why do you care? How did someone else getting help negatively affect your ride?

I am going to do the fair weather thing and wait till I see what the weather is doing. (It also depends on whether I am required for baby sitting duties which does trump most things)
