  1. I "dwaal" at the Argus on purposes just to see how many of the racing snakes in ZZ I can p!ss off. Nothing pleases me more than a shrieking "keep left" coming up behind me several hours after the elites have finished. I heard the top guys in ZZ even have their own blood centrifuges and their musettes contain more than bananas if you know what i mean(wink wink nudge nudge)
  2. Was one of those bogus ads for casting spells and love potions. I asked the guy if he had a spell to make Campagnolo reverse their 4 arm crank decision.
  3. Pity, all hope is lost now
  4. Will 35's fit on your bike? I had a set of 28 gatorskins which were really comfy.
  5. You can get aftermarket 52/53 chainrings for compact cranks. Not cheap though: http://www.totalcycling.com/en/TA-Nerius-Outer-Chainring-For-Campagnolo-11sp-Compact---110-BCD/m-19367.aspx
  6. No no no Campagnolo, if I want ugly, or functional, I'll buy Dura Ace. I buy Campagnolo because I want to look at my bike and say "wow, you're hot!"
  7. Going up Ou Kaaps in my 54/11 I often yearn for a 10 on the back, don't you?
  8. Sheldon Brown is your friend. http://www.sheldonbrown.com/dura-ace.html
  9. Ja, but would you still pay all that money for the Porsche if you knew it was made by Cherry in China?
  10. With today's 3D printers it wont be longs before those are faked perfectly too.
  11. The fakers are getting better and better. The Boras even have the G3 spoke pattern on the rear now which they didn't before.
  12. That new group will end the 80 year run of beautiful components.
  13. Nothing on the web is gone forever. Well, some of it isnt. I found the 2007 geometry on the wayback machine: https://web.archive.org/web/20071010110028/http://www.raleigh.co.za/bikes.php?rangeid=10&bikeid=8&year=2007#geo
  14. Not road wheels, but you can try a set of 29er mtb wheels with road tyres. I put 29er wheels with cyclocross tyres on a 26" GT avalanche that I used for commuting. That bike was so much fun to ride and pretty decent off road too.
  15. He will drop dead before he's 50 I bet.
  16. I doubt anyone in Lemonds era were angels wh I bet he could still ride 99% of hubbers into the gutter..
  17. It could possibly be real. Alan van Heerden always had a couple of those on display in his shop, late 90's to early 2000's. I was a regular window shopper there and the bonus was his shop was sandwiched between the Ducati dealer and 'The House of Sportscars' in Bryanston. LOL, after seeing Cippo's link I take it back,
  18. Yes, you can actually put an 8 speed cassette on a 10 speed body, but apparently the body wont last long if you do that.
  19. 8 Speed Campag is different.
  20. Kind of, but its not perfect.
  21. X-Man's C40 is actually quite rare. Its the B-Stay and HP-Stay model, so it has the chain stays of the later C50 and was only available for a year on the C 40. I agree that you probably wont get more than 8k for the bike. Maybe if it was a bigger size..
  22. The self righteous aren't going to let trivial little facts get in the way of their opinions.
  23. But like the article says, the bike is just a token of appreciation for giving away over 10 million rand.
  24. Thats a regular Super Record groupset, not a 50th.. There used to be a Swiss company called ICS in the 80's that used to add some bling to Campy parts: http://www.classicrendezvous.com/Switzerland/ICS_main.htm
