    jock comms

    No seeding details yet?
  2. Can't remember to be honest. I think my Kleenex Kit ala the Wilro Race.
  3. Apart from the racing snakes, the rest of us will have Spitskop and the other climbs in our legs, so the St. 3 start is quite sedated. The real fun starts about halfway up the climb :-)
  4. Also had a slump in training, don't talk about the entry fee!!! Will be there!!
  5. I find your observations kinda weird. I've been running the same Campag pads on my older road bike for over 10 years, and they are 10000% reliable. Done more than 40 000 km with them, all weather conditions. If it helps your confidence, drop the R500 and buy new ones.
  6. Always support these rides. But you left the notification a lttle late :-(. Already have other plans. When is the next race?
  7. On saddle position I would suggest you use the same set-up. I run mine exactly the same with good results. BTW crank length for all my bikes are the same. Saddles are all FIZIK and are very similar. Stem length and saddle to stem drop will most likely be different.
  8. Funny that the A sample took so many months to test, but the B sample less that a week????
  9. Currently running a set of Ultremo ZX, purely because Evobikes had them on special. Can't fault them. Also ran Mitch Pro Race, again no hassles. Used the Force/Attack combo years back and could see no benefit in the wheel specific marketing claim.
  10. We need to define mountains. In Europe they have mountains, in South Africa we have mole hills. So in a race like the Jock, where everyone are in awe of the mountains (read Spitskop and Longtom both < 9km and avg gradient of ± 7%), Spartacus will highly likely win with a more than a fair margin. And he will be rated as a powerful climber........
  11. Eish What a drive from the far east!! Not sure what the fastest route will be????? Also use to park at a buddy house at Kyalami, with a nice warm-up to the start.
  12. What a great day out - the best possible weather (from a wind perspective) that one can ever hope for.
  13. Hi Gary Route is the same as last year. The route to Dasville is retraced back home See u on Sunday.
  14. Amen bro!
  15. I ride for PB's every day!! But at the end of (nearly) each ride, I am grateful for the privilege that I am still able to do what I love, irrespective of how I performed. Must admit, there were a few days on the 2012 CPT and on a number of Audax rides that I wondered if there wasn't an easier sport to spend my time on.
  16. ` I made a posting today. Look in the EVENTS page - you can't miss it!
  17. That DAMN loop - hate it with gusto. It's SO EASY just to turn left towards Pro Cycles.
  18. And there I thought we're going to ride together again!!
  19. On my doorstep, so considering it - am a bit gatvol of cold AND windy weather, so will 1st see what the weather holds before I enter
  20. Just bought a set of Darkhorse clinchers (50mm) and I am extremely happy with them. Not that light - 350g more than my American Classic 38mm Tubbies, but they feel rock solid, stiff and bullet proof. Used them during the Kremetart and they don't climb bad at all. Oh, and I love the the look of the DH set!
  21. RIP Basil

    D2D 2014

Oh no!! Don't like the new route. Although painful, the Sterkfontein climb to the finish was what made this race!!
  23. We are already RANTING on the Kremetart events page. We had an EPIC FAIL.....
  24. Campag all the way. I bought a Centaur 10-spd groupset 10 years ago and everything apart from the chain is still originals, with maintenance costs at an absolute minimum - I think I replaced the cables once. If you have the money, the Chorus set is beautiful, and light. Installed that 2 years ago on my "racing" bike!
  25. Any news on the 2014 CPT route? I was under the impression it was launched over the weekend?
